Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) stormed out of a Congressional hearing today after being called out for being an asshole after misgendering Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE). It began with Self, who’s the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, trying some passive aggressive bs by referring to McBride as “Mr. McBride.” Without missing a beat, McBride slyly responded “Thank you, Madam chair.” But Democrat Rep. Bill Keating of Massachusetts was done with Self’s assholery.

Even forever conservative Bill Kristol and other conserv chimed in about Self’s smug little performance:
I’m neither young nor woke. I’m kind of a stick-in-the-mud. A few weeks ago, I was at a dinner that included Sarah McBride. We had a pleasant time and interesting talk. It wasn’t at all a burden to treat her with decency and respect. Republican members of the House might try it.
