Truth-challenged gay Rep. George Santos got a splash of cold water on his reelection plans when Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy told Fox News he would not be supporting Santos in the 2024 election.

Asked whether he was part of Santos’ 2024 reelection campaign, McCarthy laughed and replied, “No, I am not. No, he shouldn’t run for reelection. We’re going to keep that seat with another Republican, yes we are.”

Santos currently faces numerous investigations after inventing an almost entirely new biography in his bid to become elected.

So far, he’s facing 13 federal charges by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including wire fraud and making materially false statements to the House of Representatives. Santos denies any culpability.

Even so, in April Santos announced his plans to run for reelection.

Following McCarthy’s remarks, Santos clapped back with a series of tweets reiterating his intention to run for reelection as well as throwing shade McCarthy’s way declaring he won’t be a “pawn” of his own party.
