Exit Polls Show Some Surprising Details About 2024 Electorage

Preliminary exit polling conducted today by Edison Research has some interesting tidbits of info about the make-up of this year’s electorate. Of course, the difference between pre-election polls and exit polls is these are folks who actually voted.

A couple of stats via Reuters: • 44% of voters viewed Donald Trump favorably, compared with 46% in 2020 exit polls, when he lost to President Joe Biden. VP Kamala Harris was viewed favorably by 48% of respondents. • Women, who lean towards Harris, made up 53% of the electorate, up a tick from 52% in 2020 exit polls. •  The share of voters without a college degree, who tend to support Trump, was 57%, down two points from 2020’s 59%. • 73% of voters believe democracy is in jeopardy. Read more here. CNN and NBC’s exit polls also showed the threat to democracy as the number one issue for voters.
