Bernie Sanders Meets With President Obama

No, Bernie did not concede the race – yet.

But he did thank President Obama and Vice-President Biden for remaining impartial during the primary season.

He also clearly stated he looks forward to working with Hillary Clinton to make sure Donald Trump is not the next president of the United States.

Sanders will go to the District of Colombia primary next week, saying his focus is DC’s desire for statehood.

Researchers Develop Blood Test That Can Detect Early Alzheimers With 100% Accuracy

A team of researchers at Rowan University in New Jersey believe they have developed a blood test that can detect early-stage Alzheimer’s in patients.

The study included 236 subjects.

From CBS News:

In terms of identifying early Alzheimer’s in patients with mild cognitive impairment, or MCI, the overall accuracy rate was 100 percent, according to the researchers.

Cassandra DeMarshall, the lead author of the study, said that 60 percent of patients with MCI, have it due to an early stage of Alzheimer’s. “Our results show that it is possible to use a small number of blood-borne autoantibodies to accurately diagnose early-stage Alzheimer’s. These findings could eventually lead to the development of a simple, inexpensive and relatively noninvasive way to diagnose this devastating disease in its earliest stages,” DeMarshall said in a statement.

Nagele added that it is believed that “Alzheimer’s related changes,” occur in the brain at least ten years before common symptoms begin to show.

The researchers say that a larger study will be needed to verify whether or not their method will be a viable one for detecting Alzheimer’s, but they do believe that their test could lead to earlier treatments that could offset the impact that the disease has on those who are suffering from it and for families with loved ones who develop it.

I know several people who say they wouldn’t want to know if Alzheimers was in their future.

I’ve grown so forgetful over the past couple of years that, in all seriousness, I believe it’s possible I may have some mild cognitive impairment. So, I’m fascinated to see how the next stages of the researcher’s work progresses.

President Obama: I’m “Worried” About The GOP

President Obama visited Jimmy Fallon last night on The Tonight Show where he chatted on the end of the primary season, Hillary Clinton’s historic candidacy and some light moments about The Donald.

At one point, Fallon asks Obama if he thinks the Republicans are happy with their candidate. Obama responded, “We are … I don’t know how they’re feeling.”

Speaking a little more seriously, Obama opined that what has happened this year in the Republican Party “is not actually good for the country as a whole. It’s not something Democrats should wish for.”

“You want the Republican nominee to be somebody who could do the job if they win. And you want folks who understand the issues. And where you can sit across the table from them and you have a principled argument. And ultimately can still move the country forward.”

“At the end of the day, what you want is a healthy two-party system,” Obama said.

Nick Jonas Gets Screen Action On KINGDOM

Audiences finally got to see Nick Jonas’ Kingdom character “Nate” have some sexy sexy screen time, except not in a good way.

In Wednesday night’s episode “No Fault,” Jonas’ character got drugged at a party and, while woozy, finds himself in the middle of a three-way.

As the world is outraged over the recent Stanford rapist incident, this isn’t how folks really wanted to see “Nate” finally get some screen action.

You can watch a bit of the scene below.

Maya & Marty – “Jiminy Glick with Drake”

While I don’t think this is the funniest segment I’ve ever seen, I have enormous admiration for Martin Short who has a complete lack of fear when it comes to comedy.

And when you do comedy, I think that’s really one of the prime ingredients – you go for it, and it either lands or not. But, you go for it.

I give Drake some credit here, too. He handles his “straight man” duties well.

Short: “You’re a Jewish rapper, isn’t that wonderful? Do you miss the hood? And when I say ’hood,’ I mean your foreskin. Do you miss it?”

Drake: “Um, I’m glad to be, sort of, clean-cut.”

Any readers watching “Maya & Marty?” Yay? Nay?

Elizabeth Warren To Endorse Hillary Clinton For President

Reuters is reporting tonight that Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren will endorse Democratic presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton some time in the next couple of weeks.

Advisers to Warren, a fiery critic of Wall Street and a popular figure among progressive Democrats, have been in close contact with Clinton’s campaign team and the conversations have increased in frequency in recent weeks, the sources said.

Warren, 66, represents her home state of Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate. The sources said that foremost in her thinking is how best to help the Democratic Party defeat the presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in the Nov. 8 presidential election and advance issues such as income inequality which top Warren’s agenda.

An endorsement of Clinton could come within a week or two, one of the sources said. Clinton has been appealing for Democratic Party unity. On Twitter over the weekend, Warren echoed that call and emphasized the importance of the party coming together to beat Trump.

“Get ready, Donald,” she tweeted. “We’re coming.”

Warren has stayed neutral in the Democratic primary race, notably remaining the only woman senator not throwing her support behind the first woman presidential nominee of a major political party.

Many progressives would LOVE for Hillary to pick Warren as her running mate. Most say it would go a long way to healing some of the hurt feelings among Bernie Sanders’ supporters.
