Charles Barkley: “We Need To Move The All-Star Game”

Charles Barkley, NBA legend and current TNT analyst, says the NBA will need to relocate the All-Star Game out of North Carolina next year because of the anti-LGBT law HB2.

During an appearance on the “The Dan Patrick Show,” Barkley was asked, “Will you consider boycotting the All-Star Game?”

“Yes,” Barkley responded. “I told my boss, I don’t want to act like I’m jumping on a sword, but I’ve talked to Adam Silver, we need to move the All-Star Game,” he said, speaking of the NBA Commissioner.

“I hope they don’t put me in a situation where I have to boycott the All-Star Game. We need to move the All-Star Game.”

North Carolina has already suffered economic losses totally in the millions thanks to the controversial legislation.

Bobby Brown To US Weekly: Yes, Whitney Houston Was Bisexual

In the latest issue of US Weekly, Bobby Brown confirms that Whitney Houston did indeed have a longtime secret romance with bestie/assistant Robyn Crawford:

“I know,” Brown, 47, tells Us exclusively of his ex-wife’s relationship with Crawford, 55. “We were married for 14 years. There are some things we talked about that were personal to us.”

Houston and Crawford met as teens when they both worked at a community center in East Orange, New Jersey, and Crawford became her assistant and later creative director, traveling the world with the Bodyguard star.

The New Edition frontman alleges in his new book, Every Little Step, that Houston was bisexual. “I’m a man and she was attracted to me!” he tells Us.

Although the “I Will Always Love You” singer strongly denied the claims, Brown alleged it could have been because her family, including her mother, Cissy Houston, didn’t approve of the lesbian relationship — even insisting Crawford be fired.

Cissy, 82, revealed to Oprah Winfrey in 2013 that it “absolutely” would have bothered her if her daughter was gay, and she would not have condoned it.

“I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney’s life, Whitney would still be alive today,” Brown says. “She didn’t have close friends with her anymore.”

Hillary Clinton Campaign Launches “RepublicansAgainstTrump.org”

Fresh off of being named the Democratic presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton’s campaign has launched a new website aimed at courting disaffected GOP voters.

Via Politico:

The website, republicansagainsttrump.org, was registered on May 27 and launched on June 2, according to domain registration records. The Clinton campaign only appears to have begun buying ads to promote the site more recently.

The ads promise potential supporters a “free ‘Republicans Against Trump’ sticker” if you pledge to oppose Trump in the fall.

“Donald Trump is not qualified to be president. He does not represent my beliefs as a Republican and, more importantly, my values as an American. He does not speak for me and I will not vote for him,” reads the pledge.

The small print, if a visitor scrolls to the bottom of the page, reads: “Paid for by Hillary for America.”

MoveOn To Bernie Sanders: “Undemocratic Superdelegates Should Not Overturn The Will Of The Voters”

One of the largest progressive political groups to support Sen. Bernie Sanders, MoveOn.org, has posted a statement suggesting that it is time for Sanders to explore a graceful exit from the Democratic primary season noting that Hillary Clinton has secured the majority of pledged delegates.

“In the last year, Bernie Sanders has won 22 states, shattered fundraising records through small donor donations, and electrified millions of Americans with a bold, progressive vision for America. In short, Bernie’s campaign has revolutionized politics as we know it and in doing so brought in millions of new voters to the political process and the Democratic Party.

“Bernie Sanders has more than earned the right to figure out the next steps for this movement on his own timeline. And, the voters of DC, long disenfranchised, have the right to have their say in this process next Tuesday just as the millions of voters before them have had.

“MoveOn members believe, as we have long advocated, that the nomination should go to the winner of the majority of pledged delegates, and that undemocratic superdelegates should not overturn the will of the voters.

“The idea that our government should work for all people, not just corporations and billionaires, is not just the future of the Democratic Party; that is the here and now. The policies that Bernie has advanced should be included in the Democratic platform, and candidates up and down the ballot should campaign on them this fall. Poll after poll has shown that Bernie’s message is the best way to defeat Donald Trump in November.

“MoveOn members are proud to be a key part of the Bernie Sanders campaign. Nationwide, millions of MoveOn members are donating, volunteering, phone banking, and voting to bring Bernie’s inspiring, hopeful agenda to every American. Over the next few days, we will be listening to Sen. Sanders and MoveOn members, who have gone all in for Bernie, about our next steps.”

Bolding is mine.

Sanders’ one supporter in the U.S. Senate – Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon – has also gently suggested that it is time for Sanders’ to begin the process of uniting the party, saying, “We have our nominee.”

No Concession Speech From Bernie Sanders

Although he began with what sounded like the beginnings of a concession speech, Bernie Sanders promised his supporters last night that his campaign would indeed continue through the Democratic convention.

“Next Tuesday, we continue the fight. We are going to fight hard to win the primary in Washington DC. And then we take our fight for social, economic, racial and environmental justice to Philadelphia,” said Sanders.

At the mention of Hillary Clinton’s name, his supporters began to boo. Sanders did little to stop it.

President Obama Congratulates Clinton & Sanders On “Inspiring Campaigns”

The White House released this statement last night as the Democratic primary season draws to a close.

Make note of that last paragraph.

Tonight, President Obama called both Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders. The President congratulated both candidates for running inspiring campaigns that have energized Democrats, brought a new generation of Americans into the political process, and shined a spotlight on important policy ideas aimed at making sure our economy and our politics work for everybody, not just those with wealth and power.

The President congratulated Secretary Clinton for securing the delegates necessary to clinch the Democratic Nomination for President. Her historic campaign inspired millions and is an extension of her lifelong fight for middle-class families and children.

The President thanked Senator Sanders for energizing millions of Americans with his commitment to issues like fighting economic inequality and special interests’ influence on our politics.

In addition, at Senator Sanders’ request, the President and Senator Sanders will meet at the White House on Thursday to continue their conversation about the significant issues at stake in this election that matter most to America’s working families. The President looks forward to continuing the conversation with Senator Sanders about how to build on the extraordinary work he has done to engage millions of Democratic voters, and to build on that enthusiasm in the weeks and months ahead.
