Rudy Giuliani Admits Trump Campaign Receiving Leaked Info From FBI

During a television interview today, Donald Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani admitted he and the Trump campaign have been receiving leaked information from inside the FBI for months, including the agency’s plan to review additional emails found on a laptop shared by Clinton aide, Huma Abedin.

From Huffington Post:

The former New York City mayor and Trump surrogate has recently dropped a series of hints that he knew in advance that the FBI planned to look at emails potentially connected to Clinton’s private server. The agency discovered the messages while investigating former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) for allegedly sexting with a minor. (Weiner’s estranged wife, Huma Abedin, is a top aide to Clinton.)

Giuliani has bragged about his close ties to the FBI for months, mentioning in interviews that “outraged FBI agents” have told him they’re frustrated by how the Clinton investigation was handled. And two days before FBI Director James Comey announced that the agency was reviewing the newly uncovered emails, Giuliani teased that Trump’s campaign had “a couple of surprises left.”

“You’ll see, and I think it will be enormously effective,” he said in an interview with Fox News.

All of this has led to suspicion that someone in the FBI is leaking information to Giuliani and the Trump campaign. The Daily Beast’s Wayne Barrett explored those suspicions on Thursday, detailing how Giuliani’s ties to the agency date back to his days as a U.S. attorney in the 1980s.

Giuliani confirmed that notion Friday during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

“I did nothing to get it out, I had no role in it,” he said. “Did I hear about it? You’re darn right I heard about it, and I can’t even repeat the language that I heard from the former FBI agents.”

U.S.Economy Adds 161K Jobs In October, Unemployment Drops Under 5%

This should be welcome news for the Clinton campaign as we head into the final weekend of the presidential race. Wages up, unemployment down, and 15.5 million jobs added in the past 80 months.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the U.S. economy added 161,000 jobs in October.

Additionally, the numbers show hourly earnings have jumped 10 cents over the previous month. That accounts for a 2.8% rise over the past year, the fastest annual wage growth since the end of the recession.

More from NPR:

But the report also revised upward the job growth for August and September. August had been pegged at 167,000 new jobs and is now at 176,000; September had been reported as 156,000 and is now 191,000.

In total, that’s 44,000 additional new jobs over those two months.

The unemployment rate ticked down slightly, back to 4.9 percent.

With unemployment moving further down and wages increasing, as Obama enjoys 54% approval ratings, this can only be seen as good news for Hillary Clinton.

Trailer: WONDER WOMAN

Talk about timing. If we ever needed Wonder Woman, we need her right now – to save our minds from this soul-leeching campaign season. With 4.7 million views in a day, the world is clearly still in love with “Wonder Woman.”

When men invade her home during ‘the war to end all wars,” Diana of Themyscira (Gal Gadot) realizes she can’t sit idly by, and so she joins the fight to bring World War I to an end.

This is Gadot’s second appearance as the Amazon princess having guested in the recent Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Like the lyrics from the 70s TV series intoned:

Wonder Woman,
Get us out from under, Wonder Woman.
All our hopes are pinned upon you.
And the magic that you do.

Stop a bullet cold,
Make the Axis fold,
Change their minds,
and change the world.

In theaters June 2, 2017.

Olivia Newton-John Returns To The Country Music Association Awards

How exciting to see Olivia Newton-John return to the Country Music Association Awards last night.

Many forget she began her five decades in entertainment with major success in the country music genre. As a matter of fact, in 1974 she was the CMA “Female Vocalist of the Year.”

Along with Hayley Orrantia and Wendi McLendon-Covey, Olivia presented Lori McKenna with the “Song of the Year award” for “Humble and Kind.” The song was written for her friend Tim McGraw, who escorted her to the stage to accept the award at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

Jon Ralston: Early Voting Indicates Nevada Is “Solid Lean Clinton”

While the recent polls seem to lean in Donald Trump’s direction, Nevada political expert Jon Ralston sees a rosier future for Hillary Clinton as he sums up the early voting results and how the numbers stack up:

On the presidential (and maybe applies to the U.S. Senate, too), some math still holds:

• Both candidates get 90 percent of base and split indies: Clinton by 4, 29,000 votes

• Both candidates get 90 percent of base, Trump wins indies by 10: Clinton by 2, 17,000 votes

• Both candidates get 90 percent of base, Trump wins indies by 20: Clinton by 3,000 votes

Note: Trump is not going to get 90 percent of the GOP base, and with all of those votes banked even before the Comey letter, it’s almost impossible for him to win indies by 20. (Romney won indies by 7.) You see his challenge.

If Clinton holds her base here (data I have seen shows she is, and minority turnout is going up) and turnout patterns don’t dramatically shift in the last two days of early voting, she can’t lose Nevada. Solid lean Clinton right now.

More than 617,000 have voted in Nevada. That’s 42.2 percent. More than half the vote is in unless Election Day turnout is well above the norm.

The Democrats have a 34,500 voter statewide lead (probably under 34,000 after the rurals are posted). That’s 42-37, or about a point under the registration lead. The GOP turnout edge is 1.2 points.

Bolding is mine.

Trump Campaign Manager To CNN’s Chris Cuomo: “You Sound Desperate And Partisan”

Things got heated this morning during an interview between CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.

After Conway’s assertions that her candidate sends a more positive tone (he doesn’t) and that the Trump campaign doesn’t have to “clean up” after his wide swipes at his opponents (they do), Cuomo pointed out that Trump doesn’t renounce white nationalist (racist) supporters.

Conway quickly interjected to Cuomo, “now you sound a little desperate and partisan.”

MSNBC’s Katy Tur Shows Grace Under Fire From Trump

MSNBC reporter Katy Tur, who has been following the Trump campaign for over a year, showed incredible grace under fire as Donald Trump directs his followers to focus their ire on her specifically during campaign rallies.

Yesterday she explained how the attacks happen and why.

I’ve admired her class over these past several months as she’d endured Trump’s attacks. You see why in this clip from yesterday.

Megyn Kelly Details Sexual Assault Attempts By Roger Ailes In New Memoir

Radar Online is reporting that Fox News host Megyn Kelly’s new memoir, Settle For More, includes new accounts of sexual assault by former Fox News head Roger Ailes.

Ailes’ advances apparently began in 2005.

She writes that she was informed by her managing editor that she’d “captured the attention of Mr. Ailes” and she was summoned to the first of a series of meetings in his Manhattan office.

“Roger began pushing the limits,” she alleges. “There was a pattern to his behavior. I would be called into Roger’s office, he would shut the door, and over the next hour or two, he would engage in a kind of cat-and-mouse game with me — veering between obviously inappropriate sexually charged comments (e.g. about the ‘very sexy bras’ I must have and how he’d like to see me in them) and legitimate professional advice.”

He offered to advance her career “in exchange for sexual favors,” she writes, and even though she says she rejected “every single one,” she claims he tried “physical advances.” But in January 2006, she claims, he “crossed a new line — trying to grab me repeatedly and kiss me on the lips.” When she shoved him away, she alleges, “he asked me an ominous question: ‘When is your contract up?’ And then, for the third time, he tried to kiss me.”

According to Kelly’s publisher, the Ailes accounts were added at the last minute to her memoir.

I have several friends who work for Fox News. All were very disappointed in Ailes’ behavior, and said when they thought back over the years it didn’t really surprise them. However, my friends being all men, they didn’t have the same perspective on the sexual harassment as the women who came forward.

I’m told that the lawsuit by Gretchen Carlson was settled so quickly because she had been recording Ailes’ advances over the past year, and the recordings were going to be played in public if the case went to court.
