House Committee Demands Any Recordings Between Trump And James Comey

Does he, or doesn’t he?

The House committee looking into Russian interference in the 2016 election are asking the White House to release any recordings of chats between former FBI Director James Comey and President Trump.

From The Hill:

A House panel led by Reps. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) sent a letter on Friday to White House counsel Don McGahn demanding the release of any “tapes” of conversations between Comey and Trump. The president first suggested the existence of such tapes after Comey revealed that he wrote memos of his private conversations with Trump leading up to his firing.

Conaway and Schiff are representing the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s Russia investigation, and a separate bipartisan group of Senate Judiciary Committee members led by Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) also sent letters requesting the notes Comey wrote documenting the same meetings with Trump.

The Senate group requested the memos from Professor Daniel Richman, the friend Comey gave his notes to, and the House group requested any memos still in Comey’s possession.

Schiff and Conaway provided a deadline of June 23.

My guess is there are no “tapes.”

This was a case of Trump saying something false to throw Comey off balance. But most probably an empty, hollow threat.

At this point, Comey is so resolute in his recounting of the “let Flynn go” story, any actual recording would most probably confirm Comey’s version of the story.

Trump: “100 Percent” Willing To Testify Under Oath About Comey Accusations

President Donald Trump tells ABC News‘ Jon Karl that he’s “100 percent” willing to testify under oath about his interactions with fired FBI director James Comey.

Answering Karl’s question today at a press event with Romania’s President, Trump asserted that Comey lied in some parts of the testimony he gave Thursday to the Senate intelligence committee.

Trump says that he never asked Comey for a pledge of loyalty, and never told Comey he hoped the investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn would go away.

When asked if there are recordings of his conversations with Comey, President Trump says he will let the American people know very shortly but, “You’re gonna be very disappointed when you hear the answer.”

It goes without saying that Trump’s rather “shaky” relationship with the truth makes it easy to believe he would happily lie under oath.

“Guardians Of The Galaxy” Star To Homophobes: “You Can Suck My Balls”

(image via Instagram)

Twitter user David J recently tweeted: “I want to thank @DaveBautista for being a LGBT supporter and defender. It’s important, esp for younger gen, to see that. A true Guardian!”

Imagine his surprise when the former WWE superstar and current Guardians of the Galaxy star tweeted back: “Obviously no thnx necessary but I appreciate the acknowledgement. Proud son of a lesbian and anyone who has issue w/ that can suck my balls😊”

Bautista isn’t shy when it comes to standing up to homophobia.

Last year, when boxer Manny Pacquiao compared LGBTQ people to animals, Bautista had a clear message: “My mom happens to be a lesbian so I don’t f**king take that sh*t.”

“If anyone called my mother an animal I’d stick my foot in his ass.”

I like the way Dave thinks LOL…

FDA Approves First Generic Of Truvada

From Drug Store News:

The Food and Drug Administration on Friday announced its approval of Teva’s abbreviated new drug application the first generic of Gilead’s Truvada (emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil).

The drug is indicated both as a treatment for HIV-1 in combination with other antiretroviral drugs and for pre-exposure prophylaxis to prevent sexually acquired HIV infection in combination with safer sex practices.

What’s not clear at this point is whether Gilead will continue their medication assistance program, which provides PrEP for a large number of individuals who don’t have insurance, once this gets approved.

According to reports, Truvada ranks 17th in the top 20 meds in the U.S.

Chelsea Manning’s First Interview Since Being Released From Prison

In her first interview since being released from prison, Chelsea Manning explains to Juju Chang of ABC News why she risked her career to disclose the information and her fight for transgender rights while in military prison.

Saying she has “accepted responsibility” for her actions, Chelsea shares that she felt it was her duty to give the 700,000 military and State Department documents to WikiLeaks due to the “death, destruction and mayhem” she saw as an Army intelligence analyst in Iraq.

Even though President Obama commuted her 35 year sentence, Chelsea’s 7 years in prison is still the longest ever served by a leaker.

Corey Lewandowski: Comey Should Be Prosecuted For Leaking

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski tells ABC’s “Good Morning America” anchor George Stephanopoulos that former FBI Director James Comey should be prosecuted for “leaking information.”

“Look, what he admitted yesterday, George, is this guy’s the leaker. He is the deep state in Washington that is everything is wrong. He admitted under oath that he gave his contemporaneous notes to a law professor.”

“And if that’s what he has done, he continues to do this, if this is his pattern, as the FBI director he absolutely should have been fired, and if he is the chronic leaker he should be potentially prosecuted for leaking information.”

As I’m sure you’ve all read by now, Comey sharing his recollection of President Trump asking him to “drop” the Michael Flynn investigation isn’t “leaking.” As a private citizen he has the right to share his thoughts on a conversation with the president.

Every chat with a president is not “classified.” And if it’s not classified, it’s not a “leak.”

Corey really likes to say, “Here’s what we know” as if he’s stating facts. But he prefaces statements with that phrase and then goes on to talk spin.
