New Trailer For Upcoming Coming-Out-Coming-Of-Age Film, “Love, Simon”

There’s a new UK trailer for the upcoming coming-of-age gay-themed film, Love, Simon, and it makes me want to see the film that much more.

The new film, directed by out director/producer Greg Berlanti (Dawson’s Creek, Brothers & Sisters, Green Lantern, Everwood, Political Animals, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow) has gotten a lot of ink as one of the first major feature film with a teen LGBT-centric story.

This new trailer has more insight into teenager Simon’s burgeoning same-sex attraction.

From the film’s synopsis:

Everyone deserves a great love story. But for seventeen-year old Simon Spier it’s a little more complicated: he’s yet to tell his family or friends he’s gay and he doesn’t actually know the identity of the anonymous classmate he’s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing.

Hillary Clinton Sends A Message To “The Activist Bitches Supporting Bitches”

Via The Hill:

“Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thanks,” Clinton says in the video. “Thanks for your feminism, for your activism, and all I can hope is you keep up the really important, good work.” Off screen, someone can be heard saying, “activist bitches supporting bitches,” which Clinton then repeats, laughing.

“And let me just say, this is directed to the activist bitches supporting bitches, so let’s go,” she says. It’s unclear exactly when or where the video was taken.

Trailer: Season 2 Of Netflix’s “One Day At A Time” Reboot

I know some folks thought a reimagining of the 70s hit sitcom One Day at a Time might seem like a bad idea, but hubby Michael and I really enjoyed season one of the Netflix reboot.

Starring Justina Machado as a Cuban-American single mother “Penelope” raising her son and daughter with the help of her mother (a scene-stealing Rita Moreno), the new version has a lot of heart. There aren’t many TV shows addressing single mothers of color as the head of a household.

Plus, the end of season one featured the daughter coming out, so there’s definitely some LGBT issues to come in season two.

Check out the trailer for the new season (available now on Netflix) below.

Stormy Daniels To Appear On Jimmy Kimmel After Trump’s State Of The Union Address

It’s not the Democratic response after Donald Trump’s State of the Union address I’ll be looking forward to.

Oh no, it’s the response of porn star Stormy Daniels who will be appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s show after Trump’s address on Tuesday evening.

As you may know by now, Daniels was alleged to have had an affair with Trump in 2006 just months after his son Barron was born to wife Melania.

There are multiple reports that Daniels was paid $130,000 in hush money at the end of the 2016 election to avoid embarrassing Trump.

Will she address any questions about the alleged affair? During an interview on Inside Edition this week, Daniels just smiled when asked if she had a sexual relationship with Trump.

I’m betting Kimmel finds an amusing way to address her non-answers.

Missouri Republican: Girls Shouldn’t Grow Up To Be “Career-Obsessed Banshees”

A Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Missouri has an interesting way to court the women’s vote.

“Interesting” as in “step-on-your-dick” bad.

From Raw Story:

Republican U.S. Senate candidate for Missouri Courtland Sykes blasted “women’s rights” this week.

In a statement posted to Facebook on Tuesday, Sykes said that he had been asked if he “supports women’s rights.”

“I want to come home to a home cooked dinner every night at six,” Sykes said, referring to demands he makes of his girlfriend. “One that she fixes and one that I expect one day to have daughters learn to fix after they become traditional homemakers and family wives.”

According to Sykes, feminists push an agenda that they “made up to suit their own nasty snake-filled heads.”

The candidate said that he hoped his daughters do not grow up to be “career obsessed banshees who forgo home life and children and the happiness of family to become nail-biting manophobic hell-bent feminist she devils who shriek from the top of a thousand tall buildings they are [SIC] think they could have leaped in a single bound — had men not been ‘suppressing them.’ It’s just nuts.”

Sykes ended his rant by insisting that he supports women’s rights “but not the kind that has suppressed natural womanhood for five long decades.”

Tease: Matt Zarley Covers “I Don’t Want To Love Somebody Else”

Award-winning out singer/songwriter Matt Zarley teases his upcoming cover of the hit song, “I Don’t Want To Love Somebody Else,” by A Great Big World.

I’m a fan of the original, but Zarley’s vocals are so warm and spot-on here.

I like.

Trump “Apologizes” For Retweeting Ultra-Nationalist Group ‘Britain First’

Donald Trump told British TV personality Piers Morgan he would “certainly apologize if you’d ask” him regarding his retweets of ultra-nationalist organization Britain First.

Trump claims he knew nothing about the organization he retweeted.

Via Politico:

“If you’re telling me they are horrible racist people, I will certainly apologize if you’d like me to do that,” Trump told ITV Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan. “I know nothing about these people.”

Trump’s three retweets of Britain First material caused a diplomatic incident last November, forcing British Prime Minister Theresa May to publicly criticize his actions. The president then took to Twitter to attack her back. But speaking to Morgan on Thursday, Trump denied he had been promoting Britain First as an organization.

“I don’t know who they are, I know nothing about them, so I wouldn’t be doing that,” he said. “I am the least racist person that anyone is going to meet. Certainly I wasn’t endorsing anybody … It was done because I am a big believer in fighting radical Islamic terror. It was a big story where you are — but it was not where I am. So you’re telling me something.”

Puerto Rico: Olivia Newton-John Performs For Atlantis Cruise

Olivia Newton-John performs for Atlantis Cruises in San Juan, Puerto Rico

I’m out on the ocean aboard the gorgeous cruise ship, “Harmony of the Seas,” with Atlantis Cruises as Olivia Newton-John was the surprise performer for the gay cruise audience in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I wanted to share a couple of videos to show not only how terrific Olivia was but also the incredible response from the passengers.

I’m told the performance broke the record for the largest concert held on the open seas. Over 5,000 enthusiastic revelers cheered, sang along and gave love to Livvy from start to finish.

Olivia’s band wasn’t available on such short notice, so she was here solo. But, there just happened to be a full-scale production of Grease performing on the ship, so the production’s “Danny,” T-Birds and Pink ladies jumped in to help on “Summer Nights” and “You’re the One That I Want.”

It was a terrific night, and when Olivia sang “I Honestly Love You” she made it clear the sentiment was coming from her heart.

After the show, she posted on her social media, “This week I sang on the Atlantis gay cruise aboard the stunning “Harmony of the Seas” – the biggest ship in the world! It was amongst the most memorable of nights in my whole career! Fun, warm, loving people who shared those feelings with me! Thank you, Atlantis Cruises, Team Rich and Team ONJ!!!”

Watch some video footage below.
