Kim Kardashian and Kanye West give birth to baby girl creating new tabloid celeb

Kim Kardashian gives birth to baby girl

Kim Kardashian, 32, gave birth to her first child – a daughter – with boyfriend Kanye West, 36, on Saturday morning, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

The delivery came slightly ahead of schedule for the E! personality, who was reportedly due in early July.

“I’m so excited we’re having a girl,” Kim said on a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, when she learned the sex of her baby. “Who doesn’t want a girl? I think they are the best. I know that’s really what Kanye has always wanted – he wanted a little girl.”

Exclusive pics of the baby coming soon – once the photo buyout is contracted.

Quick history of Prop 8

In advance of a possible ruling coming this Monday from the Supreme Court on the fate of Prop 8, the American Foundation for Equal Rights has assembled a five minute “history” of this hideous law.

SCOTUS releases rulings on Mondays, and the 17th and the 24th are the last two Mondays left in this session.

Hopes are very high that all of the previous rulings from lower courts will be upheld and Prop 8 will be history soon, allowing marriage equality to resume in California.

On the small chance that SCOTUS does not strike the law down, activists plan to head back to the voters as recent polls show as much as 61% support for gay marriage in California now.

It’s happening, kids. No matter what. It’s happening.

Five year old sells lemonade for peace across the street from Westboro Baptist Church

Five-year-old Jayden Sink, of Kansas City, decided to set up a stand selling pink lemonade at The Equality House on Friday afternoon.

The Equality House is a rainbow-colored building directly across the street from Westboro Baptist Church – yeah, the icky ugly bigots who picket US soldiers funerals. The house, which was painted the colors of the pride flag in March, was bought by Aaron Jackson, one of the founders of Planting Peace, a multi-pronged nonprofit set up in 2004 and aimed at spreading goodwill and equality around the globe.

So she painted a banner for the event reading, “Pink Lemonade for Peace: $1 Suggested Donation.” She put the stand in the grass and waited. But the waiting didn’t take long. Supporters came in by the droves and $1 turned into hundreds of dollars.

Now, Westboro didn’t sit idly by. They heckled the little girl, they shouted “bastards” at soldiers who arrived on their motorcycles to buy lemonade, they called the cops trying to shut her down. It only fed the event.

She not only raised $400 during the day on Friday, but she has also collected over $1000 with an online campaign set up through Crowd Rise. Some people donated as little as $10 and as much as $230.

The money she raised was donated to Planting Peace so she could help Planting Peace promote a more peaceful world.”

“Jayden represents the natural humanity we are born with,” Davis Hammet, Director of Operations at Planting Peace, added. “We come into this world compassionate, caring beings and only become hateful if we are taught to be.”

I absolutely concur. Congratulations Jayden for being who you are and inspiring so many.

Thanks TRR reader Rayme for the tip!

The Fortune Teller – 50 years of gay in 5 minutes

The Fortune Teller is comprised of over 50 years of imagery and footage. The 5-minute clip took six months to film and assemble, and is made up of 100 carefully selected clips.

The Fortune Teller is a film by gay artist/activist Leo Herrera, chronicling milestones and icons of the modern gay man.

The story is told through the trance of The Fortune Teller (played by Stanley Frank) and created using archival and modern footage.

The film is a documentary, a time capsule, an homage to psychedelic films of the 1960′s and the modern art of the YouTube Montage film;  a kaleidoscopic five-minute journey through more than 50 years of gay history.

Quote of the day: Sen. Max Baucus

Sen. Max Baucus writing for the Montana Standard:

“In Montana, we believe in personal freedom. We believe the government shouldn’t interfere in the people’s private business. That’s why I agreed to co-sponsor efforts to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.

“There are more than 1,000 rights and obligations the federal government grants to married couples that same-sex couples are denied. It’s time to end marriage discrimination which is why I supported overturning the Defense of Marriage Act. Simply put: the federal government should not be interfering in the personal decision of who an adult chooses as a partner.

“When it comes to the workplace, it is unacceptable for anyone to be fired simply because of their sexual orientation.

“ENDA will help protect workers from this type of discrimination and I look forward to moving forward on this legislation in the Senate as soon as possible.

“Members of the LGBT community are our neighbors, brothers, sisters and friends. They are community leaders who bring the kind of diversity to our nation that makes it strong.

“We all have a role in making sure that Pride Month is not just something we check off on the calendar. ‘Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness’ for all Americans is what we are called to strive for every day of the year.”

Max Baucus is Montana’s longest serving U.S. Senator and the first statewide elected official to publicly acknowledge his support for marriage equality.

Rock it, Elliot!

TEXT OF POEM:

What if I told you God is gay?
Do you think belligerent bible-belters
Would still holler hate speech to the hilltops
In His name?
Or do you think they would reread the scriptures
They say they swear and survive by
See, I’ve been reading the Bible again lately
And I think I’ve taken a leaf from their holy book,
Picking passages for my purpose
Which is in short
To let you know it’s very possible God is gay.
I mean think about the book of Genesis
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth
And it wasn’t just good, it was fabulous.
I mean what else is our planet but the pinnacle
Of exterior design, and I don’t mean to generalize
But it certainly seems like that the Garden of Eden
Was designed by queer, I mean divine eye for the straight guy
But some Christians would go as far as to call
God’s creations abominations
Heretics calling themselves faithful
When their faith is full of belief that only God may pass judgment
Matthew 7:1 Judge and you too shall be judged
Luke 6: 37 Condemn not and you shall not be condemned
Fred Phelps 2006: You’re going to hell! God hates fags!
A history lesson: A faggot is a bundle of sticks
Originally used as kindling for fires that engulfed gays
When they were burned at the stake, people were firewood
But Moses came across wood on fire and saw God in it,
What is a burning bush but bundles of branches
On fire, isn’t it funny how faggots and God can look the same sometimes?
Keep in mind Jesus had two dads and turned out just fine
In fact, Jesus had two dads and a surrogate mother
That never had sex with either of them,
Maybe Mary was a lesbian
And I remember the prayer going
“Hail Mary, full of grace”
Not full of sin,
“Pray for us sinners”
For we have become blinded by bigotry.
And forgotten that God gave us the rainbow
As a promise that we will never be flooded again
Either with rain or ignorance
And now all the homosexual Homo sapiens
Stand more united under God’s rainbow
Than all of his denominations do around the cross.
I was brought up believing that my Savior loved us all
And never had to specify “no homo”
But if you have hate in your heart
Say it don’t pray it
Don’t teach it and for the love of God don’t preach it
Because I am tired of these fire and brimstone sermons
Slinging slurs when they’re not firing brimstones
From voices that should be filled with love and praise
Instead of raised with hate and rage
I am a Christian, and I believe in saying the Christian thing.
Which used to sound like “Love thy neighbor as thyself”
But now sounds more like hate at the top of your picket signs
The closest thing to God being “Hell, is waiting for you”
They’re passing out damnation pamphlets
Filled with out-of-context Bible verses
Trying to define God
When his meaning is clear.
He is acceptance, He is pride, He is humility, He is just,
God is perfection, God is protection, God is love,
But most importantly
God is gay

Dems clobber the Repubs at 2013 Congressional Baseball Game 22-0

Just when it seemed the partisan bickering couldn’t get any worse in Washington, the Democrats clobbered Republicans Thursday night at the 2013 Congressional Baseball Game.

Conservatives suffered an embarrassing loss, 22-0, handing their colleagues across the aisle an easy victory, which marks the Dems fifth win in a row.

Politicians in the legislative branch took the field at Nationals Park, relieved that the show could go on despite rainy conditions earlier in the day.

Republican House Speaker John Boehner tried to rally up his GOP troops before the game, “It’s time for us to win,” he told the team.

This year’s game raised over $300,000 for The Washington Literacy Center, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, and The Nationals Dream Foundation.
