Allen H. Weisselberg, a top executive for the Trump Organization for decades, has pleaded guilty to conspiring with the company to carry out a long-running tax scheme. Over a period of 15 years, he received $1.76 million in lavish perks like a Manhattan apartment, tuition for his children’s private schools, and leases on luxury cars without paying taxes. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), who lost his primary for reelection after only one term, has received even more bad news. After spending general election campaign funds during the primary (big no-no), he also filed his quarterly report with the Federal Election Commission late.
