Yesterday, I reported the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia upheld a ruling that blocks Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s order to expel transgender service members.

• HBO Max: I highly recommend the beautifully acted Miss You, Love You starring Oscar winner Allison Janney and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells. The darkly comedic movie follows a grieving widow who is forced to plan her husband’s funeral alongside her estranged son’s personal assistant.

A federal appeals court has affirmed a lower court ruling that blocks the Trump administration from discharging transgender troops from the U.S. military.
The appeals court panel’s 2-1 decision largely upholds a March 2025 ruling by U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes in Washington, D.C.

The first poll conducted after this week’s Republican run-off shows Democratic state Rep. James Talarico leading Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton for the U.S. Senate seat, with 47% to 44% support among likely voters.
