Senate Republicans U-Turn On War Powers Resolution After Being Chastised By Trump

Senate Republicans reversed themselves last night rejecting a resolution to block Donald Trump from resuming the war with Iran after he chastised them during a closed-door meeting on Wednesday.

Following that meeting, a late-night vote was held to try to appease him. That war powers resolution failed by a vote of 47-50-1 just before midnight, and the Senate then left town for a two-week recess.
