Boy Scouts Take Aim At LGBTQ Travel Co. + More News

Gayety: The Boy Scouts of America has filed a formal opposition with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office against Queer Scout, a new LGBTQ+ travel service (lead photo). Essentially, the Boy Scouts claim the word “scout” belongs to them.

The Advocate: Three military families are suing the Defense Department over a policy that prevents military clinics or insurance from covering gender-affirming care. The plaintiffs had obtained the care for their trans children through the military health system for over a decade before the Trump administration prohibited it.

PBS News: Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. deflected gun ownership as a contributor to mass shootings in the U.S. claiming Switzerland “has a comparable number of guns as we do, and the last mass shooting they had was 23 years ago.”

According to Small Arms Survey, the U.S. has 120 guns per capita while Switzerland has 27 guns per 100 capita.

AP News: The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted an unusually quick hearing on whether Trump has the power to impose sweeping tariffs under federal law. The justices will hear arguments in November, lightning fast by the typical standards of the nation’s highest court.

404 Media: Employees at Robert F Kennedy Jr.’s Department of Health and Human Services received an email Tuesday morning encouraging them to use the AI site ChatGPT “to refine your thinking on a subject.”

The Hill: Rep. James Comer (R-KY), Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, called Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), his counterpart across the aisle “a real, big drama queen” after Garcia released the infamous spicy “birthday note” allegedly written by Donald Trump to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Garcia, the highest ranking out LGBTQ member of the House, responded complete with finger-nail emoji.
