Hulu Cancels ‘Mid-Century Modern’ + Madonna Records New Song For Late Brother + More

Some news items to start your week:

• Variety:  Hulu has announced its gay-centered sitcom “Mid-Century Modern” starring Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, Nathan Lee Graham, and the late Linda Lavin, will not return for a second season. While not groundbreaking, I liked the series, sometimes playfully referred to as a gay “Golden Girls.” It was comfortable and easy to watch. #DarnIt

• Attitude Magazine: Madonna has revealed she’s recorded a new song – “Fragile” – for her late brother Christopher Ciccone, which will be featured on her forthcoming album, Confessions on a Dance Floor Part 2, due next year. Voices Got Quiet After Mormon Church Shooter Turned Out To Be MAGA

Law enforcement authorities in Michigan are still working their way through the burned-out church that was the site of a deadly attack Sunday morning that left four people and the suspect dead and another eight victims injured.

Terence Stamp Filmed Scenes For ‘Priscilla 2’ Before His Passing

Wow. Deadline is reporting that in the months before his death, Terence Stamp filmed scenes reprising his role of “Bernadette” for an upcoming sequel to the hit movie Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Director Stephan Elliott says Stamp was originally hesitant to revisit the now-iconic role, but was persuaded by a promise that Priscilla Queen of the Desert 2, its working title, would not just be a repeat of the original. • The Independent: A 42-year-old Texas man, Joshua Cole (above), is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to shoot up the Abilene Pride Parade. “Fk their parade…come on bro let’s go hunting fairies,” he reportedly wrote in a Facebook message.

• New Music: Out recording artist Avery Cochrane’s new single, “Shapeshifting on a Saturday Night,” is a melancholy, pensive pop bop showcasing the talented artist in ‘sad autumn girl’ vibe. Anti-Trans MAGA Lawmaker Pleads Guilty To Child Porn Charges

Former South Carolina GOP lawmaker RJ May pleads guilty to distributing child sex abuse files (screen capture)

An anti-trans MAGA state lawmaker in South Carolina – who helped create his state’s Freedom Caucus, a group of the House’s most conservative members – has agreed to plead guilty to distributing child sexual abuse material.

• Gayety: Slovakia’s parliament has approved a constitutional amendment that restricts adoption to married heterosexual couples only, bans surrogate pregnancies, and legally recognizes only two sexes.

• New Music: Khalid drops his latest single, “Out of Body,” a chill, sultry R&B groove that makes its point without big vocal theatrics. “This is me in my fully liberated element,” Khalid said in a statement referencing his coming out last November.
