It’s just another day in the ongoing saga of Rep. George Santos (R-NY), the freshman congressman who is currently living a real-life Catch Me If You Can reboot no one asked for.
On Friday, the Twitter account PatriotTakes tweeted a clip of Santos from 2019 at a “Walk Away LGBT” event in New York.
“So, my name’s Anthony Devolder,” Santos says. “I’m a New York City resident. I recently founded a group called United for Trump.”
Mediaite points out that a Google search for “United for Trump” and “Devolder” only comes up with today’s tweet from PatriotTakes. So, who knows if the organization ever existed. Or if it did, it miraculously had zero online presence. https://twitter.com/patriottakes/status/1613938363060424718 Now, the freshman congressman has previously said his full name is “George Anthony Devolder Santos.” But, in all honesty, we haven’t seen a birth certificate – so do we really even know what his name is? He was sworn into office as George Santos, but did he legally change his name? Do you have to be sworn into office under your legal name?
