Answer: Alex Trebek being moved by a contestant who can’t win.
Question: What is beautiful?
When a player on today’s episode of Jeopardy realized he couldn’t win the game show, he decided to use his final Jeopardy answer to send a message of love to host Alex Trebek.
Contestant Dhruv Gaur wrote “We love you, Alex” after being stumped on the answer.
The hashtag #WeLoveYouAlex soon began trending on Twitter.
Trebek was diagnosed earlier this year with stage 4 pancreatic cancer but has announced he has no plans to retire.
He is currently undergoing a second round of chemotherapy.
And he has yet to miss a show.
I was not ready for this touching moment on today’s @Jeopardy episode when a player sent a touching message. Hearing Alex Trebek’s unshakeable voice break got me. #weloveyoualex pic.twitter.com/GDsqdm0Qqm

Sorry for west coast spoilers, but I’m really glad I got the opportunity to say to Alex what everybody at the tournament was thinking … 1/n

…for context, Alex had just shared with us that he was reentering treatment for pancreatic cancer. We were all hurting for him so badly. 2/n

When Final Jeopardy came up, I could’ve tried to puzzle it together, but really, just kept thinking about Alex, and thought he should know. 3/n
