Alexander Lincoln On Bisexuality, Falling In Love, And More

Woofy out actor Alexander Lincoln (In From The Side, Emmerdale) talks about resisting labels and falling in love in a new cover story/interview for Attitude Magazine.

In the interview, Lincoln shares on bisexual visibility, spirituality, and more profound truths.

“I sort of flip flop, I’ll be honest with you, between thinking I need to be more definitive — because I want to see more bisexual stories out there,” says Lincoln about being bisexual and resisting labels.”I want to see more people who don’t fit into a box… At times, the B in LGBTQ+ is extremely small.”

“And I’ve grappled with this,” he adds. “Do I need to define myself so that I can play more authentically? So I won’t get pushback from audiences or whatever? But also: who’s entitled to know?”

Lincoln also shares that falling in love is “all-consuming for me. It’s everything, which may not be the healthiest thing.”

“Maybe that explains why a lot of my relationships haven’t worked. Maybe they burn intense and burn out. Ephemeral perhaps. But for me, it’s all-consuming.”

The 31-year-old just wrapped his West End run in the new play This Bitter Earth, which centers on a gay interracial couple at the crossroads of white privilege, Black hurt, political activism, and queer joy.

Lincoln’s new movie, A Night Like This, which had its premiere at BFI Flare in London this past March, is scheduled for release in theaters this fall.
