Some news items you might have missed: • The Advocate: The U.K.’s Privy Council, which is the final court of appeals for several Caribbean islands that are British territories, sided with Bermuda’s government today in making same-sex marriage illegal for a third time. • Washington Blade: The first openly LGBTQ person elected to the Colombian Senate won re-election on Sunday. And five out candidates for the Colombian House of Representatives won their races as well.

• ABC7: Police said a 3-year-old boy got hold of a gun in the back seat of his parent’s car and began playing with the weapon. It discharged, hitting his mother, 22-year-old Dejah Bennet, in the neck. She died a short time later. • Raw Story: A man charged for his role on the Capitol riot has been ordered to be held in jail for witness tampering — the witness being his estranged wife. Ordered not to contact his wife (a potential government witness), the man texted her numerous times. In one text he asked her to invoke “spousal privilege” so she wouldn’t testify against him.
