Kathy Griffin Feels Snubbed By Rosie O’Donnell + More

Some news stories for you as we head over Hump Day:

• Queerty: Comedian Kathy Griffin initially celebrated Rosie O’Donnell’s guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel’s show this week, but then went public saying she felt snubbed not being invited to be a guest.

O’Donnell replied on one of Griffin’s social media posts, “Kathy – shoulda called me honey – I didn’t choose the guests …”

• NPR: The Treasury Department reports the U.S. national debt has topped $40 trillion, a record high. Around $12 trillion, or roughly 30% of today’s federal debt was added by the two Trump administrations.

• NBC News: A U.S. National Park Service engineer warned the Trump administration about the floor of the Lincoln Reflecting Pool peeling in early June due to the renovation process and the materials used for the job. The engineer alerted the administration to the peeling issue in an email sent June 11 – nearly a month before arrests began.

• Washington Post: 8 takeaways and surprises from Florida, Wyoming and Alaska primaries. Embattled Rep. Cory Mills (R-Florida) lost his reelection bid, another Trump gubernatorial pick fell, and another democratic socialist won a primary.

• Democracy Docket: Restricting mail voting is a central component of Trump’s plan to undermine the 2026 midterms. But when it came time to cast his own ballot in Florida’s primary this month, Trump voted by mail — again. Confronted with this hypocrisy, Trump has used a convenient excuse: “I’m president of the United States.”
