Donald Trump raised eyebrows today in posting a graphic boasting how he is “reshaping the media.”
The image hails departures in legacy media by pointing out outlets and media personalities who are now “gone” in part due to his rantings about “fake news.”
Among those listed are: “PBS defunded, NPR defunded, Terry Moran out at ABC, Joy Reid out at MSNBC, Lester Holt out at NBC, Washington Post massive layoffs, [Stephen] Colbert Leaving CBS, Meta’s No More Biased ‘fact checking,’ Chuck Todd out at NBC, Big Decline in MSM Ratings, Jim Acosta out at CNN, and John Dickerson out at CBS.”
The graphic also brags of Trump’s media “reforms” that included 60 Minutes record-setting interviews, being the first POTUS to join NFL broadcast, FCC broadcast “accountability,” ABC News’ $15 million settlement, saving TikTok, and more.

In related news, Trump’s FCC chair Brendan Carr appeared to threaten broadcasters in an X post which began:
“Broadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions – also known as the fake news – have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up. The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.”
He goes on to call Trump’s 2024 win a “landslide” even though the Donald beat former Vice President Kamala Harris by just 1.5%.
See below with a response from Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii.
This is a clear directive to provide positive war coverage or else licenses may not be renewed. This is worse than the comedian stuff, and by a lot. The stakes here are much higher. He’s not talking about late night shows, he’s talking about how a war is covered. https://t.co/maKAZhcUjN
