Breezy Johnson Wins 1st Team USA Gold In Milan + More News

Outsports: American skier Breezy Johnson became the first out LGBTQ athlete (and the first American athlete) to win a gold medal at the Milan Winter Olympics.

LGBTQ Nation: After three decades, the organizers of Disney Gay Days — the unofficial annual fan event where LGBTQ+ people visit the Disney World theme park in Orlando, Florida — cancelled this year’s event citing the current political climate and loss of sponsorships.

NOTUS: A number of conservative advocates launched a campaign in January with the explicit goal of organizing to overturn the landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized same-sex marriage in 2015. Elected Republicans want nothing to do with it.

Washington Blade: The D.C. government agreed to pay $500K to a gay Department of Corrections officer as settlement in a lawsuit the officer filed in 2021 alleging he was subjected to years of harassment and discrimination at his job because of his sexual orientation.

Piers Morgan: Megyn Kelly is practically unhinged in this clip raging about Spanish being sung at the Super Bowl. Notice in the video how she mocks the word “Latino” in her rant.

New York Times: Ghislaine Maxwell, co-conspirator of Jeffrey Epstein who is currently serving a federal prison sentence on sex-trafficking charges, invoked her 5th Amendment right to every question asked during a deposition before a congressional committee today. Maxwell’s lawyer told lawmakers that she “would answer questions if she were granted clemency.”

USA Today: Budweiser’s “American Icons” Super Bowl commercial, tied to America’s 250th anniversary, won USA Today’s annual Ad Meter contest — a record-setting 10th win for the brand.
