Some news items for you as we head into the last week of 2025.
• LGBTQ Nation: The first ever out gay pro hockey player says while he’s enjoying ‘Heated Rivalry,’ he doesn’t think it will encourage any hockey pros to come out.
• The Advocate: Elon Musk attacked NYC mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s pick for New York fire department commissioner – the first out lesbian to be named to the position. Musk wrote on X that “proven experience matters.” Mamdani clapped back pointing to Lillian Bonsignore’s 30+ years of “proven experience” at Emergency Medical Services that culminated in her serving as its chief.

• New York Times: After Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) spoke with several of Epstein’s victims for the first time, she held a news conference at which she threatened to identify some of the men who had abused the women. Trump reportedly called Greene to voice his displeasure, “My friends will get hurt.”
• Entertainment Tonight: Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero) and Ethan Slater (Boq) show off their fit physiques in this deleted scene – dubbed the ‘friendship montage’ – from “Wicked: For Good.”
• NewsNation: Cases of the “super-flu” are on the rise in the U.S. As of last week, the CDC said the hospitalization rate went up by 14.3 % because of the super flu spreading.
• Axios: Donald Trump said at a press event that Israeli President Isaac Herzog had told the Donald he would pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for multiple counts of corruption. Herzog’s office issued almost immediately afterward, that conversation never happened.
