Some news items you might have missed:
• THEM: Sawyer Hemsley, 33-year-old founder of Crumbl Cookies (more than 1,000 locations across the U.S.), came out as gay late Monday night after a former reality TV personality shared screen caps of private messages with the entrepreneur on TikTok.
Hemsley, who was raised in the Mormon church, shares that growing up “with values and beliefs that I still deeply love and respect” made his coming out more complicated.
• South Florida Sun-Sentinel: Gov. Ron DeSantis defended his state’s erasure of LGBTQ rainbow crosswalks saying the cities resisting their removal are “virtue signaling” and will be forced to “get with the program.”
• OUT: Grammy winner Lil Nas X is letting his fans know he’s staying strong following his arrest last week in Los Angeles: “That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be all right.”
• Business Insider: Trump has purchased over $100 million in bonds since taking office. His portfolio is poised to get a boost if the Federal Reserve cuts interest rates as he so desperately wants.
• X: Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker clapped back at Trump after the Donald commented on his weight: “It takes one to know one on the weight question. And the president, of course, himself, is not in good shape…I would say also that his personal attacks on me are just evidence of a guy who’s still living in fifth grade.”
