Some news items you might have missed: • Gayety: Production on the new sitcom, Mid-Century Modern, has wrapped. • The Independent: A Long Island cemetery allegedly blocked a grieving widower from burying his husband in their chosen gravesite because he was gay. When called for comment, the cemetery employee who answered the phone replied, “Sorry, not interested,” and hung up. • Right Wing Watch: Oklahoma state Sen. David Bullard has introduced a bill to provide tax credits to married couples who have “natural” children. The bill was written explicitly to exclude LGBTQ couples, which Bullard explained is designed to “push back on Obergefell.”

• Washington Post: No, you’re not crazy. Americans are mixed to negative on many of Donald Trump’s initiatives, and 57% say he has exceeded his authority since taking office. Overall, 53% disapprove of his job performance, according to a new poll. • New York Times: The Senate confirmed Kash Patel, a Trump loyalist with a long history of attacking the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to oversee the bureau today on a 51-49 vote. Only two Republicans – Murkowski of Alaska and Collins of Maine – voted against his confirmation. • CNN: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth could soon move to fire more than half a dozen generals. The list includes the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General CQ Brown.
