Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday accepted an invitation from CNN to debate former President Donald Trump on October 23, but the question is will the Donald show up for another one-on-one in the final weeks of the campaign? Campaign chair Jen O’Malley said in a statement, “Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share a stage with Donald Trump,” adding that Trump “should have no problem agreeing to this debate.”
The proposed debate would mirror the first 2024 presidential debate in June between Trump and President Joe Biden, taking place at CNN’s studios in Atlanta. The statement went on to add that, back in June, Trump “praised CNN’s moderators, rules, and ratings.” Harris also tweeted her acceptance, writing on X: “I hope Donald Trump will join me.”
I will gladly accept a second presidential debate on October 23.
I hope @realDonaldTrump will join me. https://t.co/Trb8HUBsDh — Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) September 21, 2024
