When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced his bid to challenge President Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination two months ago, Sean Hannity was all in for RFK Jr. In fact, Hannity hosted a town hall for RFK Jr. during his Fox News show. Of course, that was when Hannity and his ilk thought Kennedy would siphon off votes from Biden. Now that Kennedy’s declared he’s going to run as an independent, Hannity suddenly cares about things he said years ago, ambushing him in an interview last night using Trump campaign talking points. https://twitter.com/mmfa/status/1712108676226359735 From Media Matters:
Hannity devoted an entire segment to characterizing Kennedy as “very liberal,” mostly focusing on the candidate’s environmental policy positions: “Fracking, you wanted to eliminate it. You called it a victory for democracy. You want to curb U.S. fossil fuel extraction. ‘Keep it in the ground,’ you once tweeted.”
Hannity also listed prominent Democrats that he said Kennedy had endorsed: Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders.
Hannity somehow failed to bring up ANY of those talking points during the town hall he hosted for Kennedy. Watch the exchange below. If you head over to Media Matters, there’s a detailed list of the many times Fox News talking heads fawned over RFK Jr. back when he was running as a Democrat.
“Damn, this was a lot more fun and easier the last time Hannity interviewed me. WTF happened to that guy?” -Jr.

funny how none of these topics were mentioned during Hannity’s hour-long town hall with Kennedy in July.
