In light of the new criminal charges against truth-challenged out Rep. George Santos (R-NY), a group of six Republican House members are reviving efforts to expel the former drag queen from the chamber. https://twitter.com/RepDesposito/status/1712129095939539148 Rep. Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY) announced on social media he plans to introduce a House resolution today “to rid the People’s House of fraudster George Santos.” He is reportedly being joined in his efforts by fellow New York GOP House members Reps. Nick LaLota, Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, Nick Langworthy and Brandon Williams. LaLota told reporters he considers Santos an “immoral” and “untrustworthy” person. “The sooner he’s gone, the better,” he added. https://twitter.com/nicklalota/status/1712132502532296983 Expulsion from the House will require a two-thirds vote of the entire chamber. According to NBC News, Santos responded to news of the resolution by saying, “If they want to be judge, jury, and arbitrator of the whole God damn thing, let them do it. They just want to silence the people of the 3rd congressional district.” This isn’t the first time House members have attempted to expel the fabulist. In May, three Democratic members of the House – Reps. Robert Garcia (D-CA), Becca Balint (D-VT), and Eric Sorensen (D-IL) – introduced a resolution to expel Santos following the news of his indictment on 13 federal charges. But, being all Democrats, the resolution went nowhere as House GOPers voted to table the issue and instead sent it to the oh-so-slow-moving House Ethics Committee. In related news, Democrat Thomas Suozzi – who left Congress to run for NY governor – has announced a bid to retake his former seat. https://twitter.com/MSignorile/status/1711770367994245158
