6+ Million Viewers Tune In For Harris/Walz On CNN

CNN‘s exclusive interview with Democrats Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz scored 6.3 million viewers on Thursday night, according to data from Nielsen. During the same time slot, Fox News averaged 2.65 million viewers and MSNBC garnered an average of 1.3 million viewers.

The interview went pretty much as I expected. Early on in the chat, Harris embraced her time as veep to President Joe Biden and held firm to her support of the administration’s results. She also made it clear her intention is to “turn the page” on the last several years of government tainted by Donald Trump’s ugly imprint on politics. But she added that bipartisanship was part of her vision and suggested she would appoint a Republican to her cabinet. When Bash brought up Trump’s attacks on Harris’ gender and race, she showed no interest in furthering the ridiculous remarks by the Orange one. “Same old, tired playbook. Next question, please.” Similarly, when Bash asked Walz about some confusion instigated by GOP veep candidate JD Vance, the governor acknowledged that he often speaks like a regular midwesterner and his “grammar’s not always correct.” But he made it clear splitting hairs, for example, on how he references the fertility treatments he and his wife used to have a family aren’t the most important issues of the day. In case you missed, it – here’s the full interview in three easy to digest bites. This marked CNN’s second big political score of the summer having hosted the presidential debate between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
