Donald Trump’s media company, Trump Media & Technology Group, posted a huge loss ($238.1 million) in the second quarter of 2026 while generating a meager $1.7 million in sales.
Via Variety:
Donald Trump is the largest shareholder in TMTG, holding more than 40% of its shares through a revocable trust, according to a July 21 Bloomberg report. The company operates Truth Social, President Trump’s favored social media platform.
The company $238.1 million net loss for the June quarter compares with a $20 million net loss in the year-earlier period. TMTG’s $1.7 million in revenue was up 89% from $883,300 generated in the second quarter of 2025.
The company reported $25.6 million in legal expenses in the most recent quarter, primarily related to “legacy litigation” that has now been “substantially resolved.”
This probably explains why TMTG launched its new “Truth API” service providing instant access to “the highest-ranking” accounts on Truth Social — including Trump’s — charging as much as $100,000 per month.
Trump founded the company in February 2021 after he was suspended from platforms including Twitter (now X), Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
He was reportedly kicked off those services for violating rules against inciting violence in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
