Trump Rants Over Hunter Biden Pardon

Donald Trump responded to the news of President Joe Biden issuing a presidential pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, on social media asking, “Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!” What Trump doesn’t mention is he’s issued pardons to relatives as well and had no problem with that. Trump pardoned his daughter Ivanka’s father-in-law, Michael Kushner, as he left office in 2020. Kushner, a New Jersey real estate executive, had pleaded guilty to making false statements to the Federal Election Commission, witness tampering, tax evasion, and making illegal campaign donations.

According to AP News, Kushner hired a prostitute to lure his brother-in-law, then arranged to have the encounter in a New Jersey motel room recorded with a hidden camera and the recording sent to his own sister, the man’s wife. This was after Kushner discovered his brother-in-law was cooperating with federal authorities, which led him to concoct a scheme for revenge and intimidation. Today, Trump plans to have Kushner, who has no experience in diplomacy and doesn’t speak French, serve as Ambassador to France.

Now, just to put these two pardons side-by-side, Hunter Biden was convicted of ticking the wrong box on a firearms application form about his drug addiction, and he pleaded guilty to failing to pay taxes, which he later paid. The gun was owned for 11 days and never used, and as noted, Hunter paid his delinquent taxes. These crimes had no effect on anyone, while Michael Kushner had set out to ruin his brother-in-law’s life. Let’s face it – Hunter Biden was only targeted by Republicans as a way to tarnish President Biden’s chances at reelection. If Hunter’s last name wasn’t Biden, these extensive investigations and charges would never have gone as far as they did.

Also, Trump campaigned on a promise to pardon rioters who had assaulted police during the violent invasion of the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. Those are actions that DID affect people’s lives including the loss of one Capitol police officer’s life. Trump, who’s already promised to go after his “enemies” in his next term, really should take a cookie and sit down on this one.
