In a sign of just how much influence billionaire Elon Musk will have in the new Trump administration, during a phone call with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump handed the phone to Musk.

From the New York Times:
It is not clear what the three men discussed or whether they touched on any change in U.S. policy toward Ukraine in the wake of Mr. Trump’s election.
Mr. Musk was with Mr. Trump at Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence in Florida, and the tone of the call was described as positive, according to the person familiar with the discussion.
A second person briefed on the call also confirmed Mr. Musk’s participation, which was reported earlier by Axios.
Mr. Trump has promised to bring a quick end to the conflict, a position widely seen as allowing Russia to hold on to the territory it has seized since invading Ukraine in 2022.
It’s pretty clear that by throwing his support and vast financial resources behind Trump, Elon Musk has become the most powerful civilian in the world.
Elon Musk — the most influential backer of President-elect Trump, thanks to his money, time and X factor — now sits at the pinnacle of power in business, government influence and global information (and misinformation) flow. https://t.co/eciuUEnz8n

Pretty nuts: Elon Musk was on Donald Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this week. Zelensky’s team was apparently “reassured by what he heard,” but what the hell else could they say at this point. https://t.co/GA4AuParCw
