According to The Texas Tribune, the new platform calls for, among other things:
• Treating homosexuality as “an abnormal lifestyle choice,” language that was not included in the 2018 or 2020 party platforms.
• Opposes offering any special protections for members of the LGBTQ community, and renounces penalties for those who discriminate against the community.
• The platform supports debunked and dangerous conversion therapy — which it terms “Reintegrative Therapy” — to turn members of the LGBTQ community into heterosexuals and eliminate “unwanted same-sex attraction.”
• Declaring that President Joe Biden “was not legitimately elected”
• Rebuking Sen. John Cornyn for taking part in bipartisan gun talks
Also – yet again, Texas Republicans shut out Log Cabin Republicans (a gay conservative group) from participating in the shindig.

The platform goes beyond just saying homosexuality is a choice.
They actually say that if you identify as LGBTQ+ you shouldn’t have legal rights and hate crimes should not be prosecuted.

The Texas Republican Party is celebrating Pride month by shutting out the Log Cabin Republicans—the only prominent gay Republican group in the country—from participating in their convention. Stop supporting a political party that abhors your very identity and existence.

The gay Log Cabin Republicans are very upset that Texas Repubs have kicked them out of the party. The Log Cabin folks have issued the statement, “But we’re bigoted, lying idiots too! We love Trump! We hate ourselves! We’re like Ted Cruz only with bowties! Isn’t that enough?”
