Tampa Airport Bans Pajamas – “We’ve Had Enough”

On Thursday, the Tampa International Airport has ignited a new discussion on airport decorum announcing on X: “It’s time to ban pajamas.”

“After successfully banning Crocs and giving everyone the amazing opportunity to experience the world’s first Crocs-free airport, it’s time to take on an even larger crisis.”

Tampa Airport bans pajamas

This comes months after Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy (lead photo) encouraged passengers to elevate their attire while flying by launching a public campaign, “The Golden Age of Travel Starts with You.”

“Whether it’s a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better, which maybe encourages us to maybe behave all a little better,” Duffy said in a statement at the time. “Let’s try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport.”

I’m personally a fan of presenting myself as a grownup when I fly, but what isn’t clear is: what clothing will classify as pajamas? Sweatpants, yoga pants, children wearing soft clothes?
