Open thread: What’s your favorite inexpensive wine?
As many readers of The Randy Report (and listeners of The Candi & Randy Show) know, I like wine.
I don’t over-indulge but after realizing a shift to wine from liquor and beer made a difference in my inclination for gout, I moved to wine some years ago and don’t have any gout issues any more.
So I’m always looking for a good, inexpensive wine. A deal. A secret folks don’t know.
For instance, a staple for me is Kendall Jackson’s Vintner Reserve Chardonnay. I think it’s a good wine and if you look for a deal you can find it for under $10 a bottle. With about 5 glasses of wine to a normal 750ml bottle, that’s $2 a glass. Whoo-hoo!
Now I know there are lots of inexpensive wines out there that fall under the, cough, cough, “cheap” category. I’m not interested in those.
So comment below: what’s your secret label or vineyard you think is a deal? It can be red or white. It can be over $10. I’m just looking for really good values in Randy Report readers opinions.

Looking for the perfect wine to pair with your Girl Scout cookie?

For instance, Margerum recommends the 2007 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs Sparkling Wine to accompany Trefoils. The creamy richness of the shortbread is balanced by the fresh lively notes of the Sparkling Wine.

A personal recommendation: Jenica Peak Chardonnay
As listeners of my radio show – The Candi & Randy Show – know, I often shout out “more wine” at any given moment for fun and punctuation.
Due to certain health related issues – gout, for one – I pretty much only drink wine when I do drink. And so over the past several years I’ve spent time trying many wines to find those with the best taste and the best value.
Lately, I’ve found Jenica Peak Chardonnay to be one of the best “under $10 wines” out there. This does not taste like a bargain wine at all. Not too acidic, nice body and I just plain like it.
As I’m about to open a bottle right now, I thought I’d share with you. (And no, I get nothing for the endorsement).
Just sharing a little of my experience to help you have a nice evening with friends.

Corkcicle – fabulous!
Enjoying a good wine is always a moment of pleasure. The only thing that is not cool, is when your wine is not at the right temperature.
Thats when Corkcicle comes in, with a very stylish design, made from gel, just leave it in the freezer for at least 2 hours and then put it into your wine. Then just wash and reuse again and again.
