Music: Matt Zarley sings Whitney Houston tribute – “All At Once I Have Nothing (But I Will Always Love You)”
Randy Report favorite (and 2-time Out Music Award winner) Matt Zarley shares this Whitney Houston tribute medley in his ongoing “Covered” series of music videos.
From Matt:
After several Whitney requests, I thought I’d start off with a tribute medley that my music director and I put together for my live shows, shortly after Whitney’s sudden death.
She was undoubtedly the biggest influence on me as a singer. She was the platinum standard… there will likely never be anyone better than she was in her prime.

Legendary music man Clive Davis reveals bisexuality in new memoir
Clive Davis — the man credited with discovering Whitney Houston and working with everyone from Aretha Franklin to Bruce Springsteen and Kelly Clarkson — reveals for the first time his bisexuality in his new memoir, The Soundtrack of My Life.
According to Rolling Stone :
Davis, who has been married and divorced twice, has never before publically addressed his sexuality. In a candid five-page section toward the end of the book, due in stores today, he writes that he first had a sexual encounter with a man during “the era of Studio 54.” “On this night, after imbibing enough alcohol, I was open to responding to his sexual overtures,” writes Davis, who says he had only been with women before. Being with a man, he writes, provided “welcome relief.”
After a period of “soul searching and self-analysis,” Davis separated from his second wife in 1985, and says that he went on to have simultaneous relationships with two women and a man. In 1990, he entered into a “monogamous relationship” with a male doctor, who is not named in the book. Although that relationship ended in 2004, Davis says he has been in a subsequent relationship with another man ever since. Davis writes that his coming out deeply affected his ties with one of his sons, Mitchell: After what Davis calls “one very trying year,” father and son worked out their differences, Davis says.

Whitney Houston passes away at 48 – one year later
One year ago today: Whitney Houston drowned in a hotel bathtub on Feb. 11, 2012, in Beverly Hills, Calif. Authorities said her death was complicated by cocaine use and heart disease.
One of the greatest voices of our time silenced.
I watched Whitney perform the above clip live on TV at the American Music Awards in 1994 with my best friend Matt Zarley. We had watched her great performances, and her sometimes not so great performances. But this is probably one of her best televised moments ever (she won 8 American Music Awards this night). To this day Matt and I know every riff, breath and key change of this performance.
I can’t imagine the day this video clip won’t leave me in awe.
This is how I will always remember Whitney Houston.
Whitney Houston’s mother would not have accepted Whitney as lesbian
Oprah Winfrey interviews singer Cissy Houston, Whitney’s mom, in the latest episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter.
Cissy discussed the longstanding rumor that Whitney was involved in a romantic relationship with her best friend and one-time executive assistant Robyn Crawford.
In the book, Cissy alludes to Whitney “experiment[ing]” with this friendship. Cissy tells a clearly surprised Oprah that had Whitney come out to her as a lesbian she would not have liked it, or condoned it.
