U.S. Economy Adds 287K Jobs In June – Unemployment Under 5% For Nine Straight Months

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this morning that the U.S. economy added 287,000 jobs in June.

The unemployment rate moved up .1 to 4.9%. The upward tick is actually good news as it means more people were actively looking for jobs.

These numbers show the unemployment rate has remained under 5% for nine months, the first such period in 8 years.

Last month was the 69th consecutive month of positive job growth – the longest continuous period of job growth in the U.S. in the country’s history.

The longest streak of positive job growth in the history of the U.S. continues as the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports 230,000 jobs were added to the economy in February.

The unemployment rate remained at 4.9%.

U.S. businesses have now added 14.3 million jobs over six straight years, extending the longest streak on record.

Today we learned that private employment rose by 230,000 jobs in February, while private employment growth in December and January was revised up by a combined 32,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate held steady at 4.9 percent in February, while the labor force participation rate rose to 62.9 percent, reaching the same level as the end of 2013.

Over the past 24 months, the private sector added 5.6 million jobs, the most in any two-year period since 1999.

Economy Adds 151K Jobs In January – Unemployment Drops To 4.9%

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this week that the U.S. economy added 151,000 jobs last month, bringing the unemployment rate to 4.9% – the lowest unemployment rate in 8 years.

You’ll recall that in 2012 GOP candidate Mitt Romney promised to bring unemployment down to 6 % by 2017.

Obama got to under 5% a year earlier. Just saying…

U.S. Adds 292,000 New Jobs In December

Good news in newly released jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics this morning:

• American employers added 292,000 jobs in December beating 200,000 estimate

• Unemployment remains at 5% for third straight month

• October and November reports were revised up to include additional 50,000 jobs

• 2015 saw 2.65 million new jobs in the U.S., averaging 221,000 a month. That marks the second-best year for hiring since 1999 (2014 still best with 3.2 million jobs)

• Housing market looking strong with new homes sales up 15% in 2015

• Auto sales hit record high in 2015

• An economist at IHS estimates American household saved an average of $722 in 2015 thanks to lower gas prices

Keep in mind, Donald Trump and other Repubs will tell you we’re going in “the wrong direction…”

#Forward.

U.S. Job Growth Surges In U.S. As Unemployment Falls To 7.5 Year Low

The unemployment rate in America fell to 5% in October as non-farm payrolls added 271,000 jobs last month. This represents the lowest unemployment level in seven and a half years.

Additionally, with strong auto sales and average hourly earnings increasing by 9 cents, many economists see the economy as beginning to hit a solid stride.

As conservatives continue to attempt a woeful picture of the American economy, it’s easy to see between the dropping unemployment rate and a stock market that has more than doubled during President Obama’s administration that the U.S. has improved it’s economic outlook.

Bill Maher pulls out facts in response to Republicans who say they want to “take our county back.”
