Trump Supporter: If Jesus Christ Said Trump Is With Russia, I’d Check With The President If It’s True

CNN checked in with some Trump supporters to see how he’s doing.

One fan/follower/sycophant literally said this:

“If Jesus Christ gets down off the cross and told me Trump is with Russia, I would tell him, ‘Hold on a second. I need to check with the President if it’s true.'”

Washington Post: Special Counsel Mueller Looking At Possible Obstruction Of Justice By Trump

Robert Mueller

I’m guessing this is why Daniel Coats, current director of national intelligence, and Adm. Mike Rogers, head of the National Security Agency, refused to answer so many questions last week when speaking to the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The Washington Post dropped a bombshell tonight reporting that the special counsel looking into Russian interference in last year’s election, Robert Mueller, is now looking into possible obstruction of justice by President Trump.

The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.

The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

Trump had received private assurances from former FBI Director James B. Comey starting in January that he was not personally under investigation. Officials say that changed shortly after Comey’s firing.

The WaPo piece goes on to detail an encounter between Coats and Trump, as well as phone calls between Trump, Coats and Rogers.

Coats was attending a briefing at the White House together with officials from several other government agencies. When the briefing ended, as The Post previously reported, Trump asked everyone to leave the room except for Coats and CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

Coats told associates that Trump had asked him if he could intervene with Comey to get the bureau to back off its focus on former national security adviser Michael Flynn in its Russia probe, according to officials. Coats later told lawmakers that he never felt pressured to intervene.

A day or two after the March 22 meeting, Trump telephoned Coats and Rogers to separately ask them to issue public statements denying the existence of any evidence of coordination between his campaign and the Russian government.

Coats and Rogers refused to comply with the president’s requests, officials said.

And there’s documentation: recently departed National Security Agency Deputy Richard Ledgett penned an internal NSA memo documenting the president’s phone call with his boss, Adm. Mike Rogers, according to officials.

GOP House Intelligence Committee Chairman: No Evidence Of Any Trump Wiretap

Rep. Devin Nunes

Appearing on Fox News Sunday this morning, Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, announced that there is no evidence of any wiretap at Trump Tower ordered by the Obama administration.

“Was there a physical wiretap of Trump Tower? No, there never was. The information we got on Friday continues to lead us in that direction,” said Nunes.

The congressman from California also added that their was “no warrant that I’m aware of,” that would have authorized a wiretap at Trump Tower.

The Trump White House continues to push the unproven allegation of surveillance even though the Intelligence Committees in both the Senate and the House have reported there’s no evidence to substantiate the claim.

Watch Nunes below:

The ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff concurred with Nunes during his appearance on Meet The Press today:

Fake Hillary Email Sends Trump Followers Into Frenzy

A wannabe Trump troll really got the more gullible Trumpers in a frenzy today as they breathlessly retweeted what they believed was “proof” that Hillary Clinton was paying off pollsters to show her leading in the race for the White House.

A sad little Twitterer who goes by the handle “MassRafTer” posted the poorly Photoshopped image above trying to pass it off as a communication between the Hillary Clinton campaign and Public Policy Polling.

The truly cringeworthy aspect of the exercise was in seeing how many Trumpers believed the “fake email.”

The next thing you know, Donald Trump Jr. retweeted the post and folks lost their minds. Mainly because Don Jr. fell for a such a badly done fake.

Even Public Policy Polling got into the fun by retweeting an Upworthy writer who called Jr. out for his naivete.

Mitt Romney On Trump: “I Don’t Want To See Trickle-Down Racism”

2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Friday that he doesn’t see anyway he could possibly support Donald Trump in the 2016 White House race.

Romney went on to say that Trump’s racism and misogyny would lead the country’s character to suffer.

Via CNN:

“I don’t want to see trickle-down racism,” Romney said in an interview here in a suite overlooking the Wasatch Mountains, where he is hosting his yearly ideas conference. “I don’t want to see a president of the United States saying things which change the character of the generations of Americans that are following. Presidents have an impact on the nature of our nation, and trickle-down racism, trickle-down bigotry, trickle-down misogyny, all these things are extraordinarily dangerous to the heart and character of America.”

Donald Trump & Bernie Sanders Win Indiana Primaries, Cruz Drops Out

Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump cruised to an easy victory in the GOP Indiana primary last night, and in doing so saw his last real competitor, Sen. Ted Cruz, hit the skids and drop out of the race.

Sen. Bernie Sanders won the Democratic primary over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but that outcome does little to change the math in the Democratic race due to Clinton’s 280-285 delegate lead. Sanders would have to win 65% of all the remaining delegates to close that gap. And so far, nothing indicates a shift that seismic in the Dem race.

With Clinton and Trump looking more and more like the presumptive nominees for the presidential race, CNN reports Clinton leads 54% to 41%, a 13-point edge over the New York businessman, her largest lead since last July.

Clinton is also more trusted than Trump on many issues voters rank as critically important.

NY Primary – Polls Show Clinton & Trump With Strong Leads

The latest Emerson poll  shows former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with a 15 point lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders in tomorrow’s Democratic New York state primary (55% – 4-%).

Real Clear Politics poll averages show Clinton with an average 12 point lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump leads his rivals with 55% of those polled, versus Gov. John Kasich at 21% and Sen. Ted Cruz at 18%.

Real Clear Politics shows similar poll averages of 53% / 22% / 18% respectively.

We’ll see how this goes by tomorrow night.

PolitiFact Rates Donald Trump “Thousands Cheered In New Jersey” Statement – PANTS ON FIRE

It comes as no surprise that the Pulitzer Prize winning website PolitiFact has researched Donald Trump’s now infamous claim that “thousands and thousands” cheered in New Jersey when the World Trade Center was attacked on 9/11.

Trump said he “watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering” as the World Trade Center collapsed.

This defies basic logic. If thousands and thousands of people were celebrating the 9/11 attacks on American soil, many people beyond Trump would remember it. And in the 21st century, there would be video or visual evidence.

Instead, all we found were a couple of news articles that described rumors of celebrations that were either debunked or unproven.

Trump’s recollection of events in New Jersey in the hours after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks flies in the face of all the evidence we could find.

We rate this statement Pants on Fire.

Bolding is mine.

If you go to the link, you can read the extensive digging the folks at PolitiFact did to try and give Trump even a smidgen of leeway. But there was none to be found.

Trump even admitted to Bill O’Reilly on last night’s “O’Reilly Factor” that he doesn’t bother to check facts before he tweets or retweets things.

Donald Trump On Rogue Clerk Kim Davis: “The Decision Has Been Made, And That Is The Law Of The Land”

Speaking with the crew of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Donald Trump said while he saw both sides to the issue of Kim Davis’ refusal to issue marriage licenses (landing her in jail at the present), ultimately the SCOTUS decision legalizing marriage equality is the law of the land and “you have to go with it.”

“Well, look, the decision came down from the Supreme Court, Gene, so I’m a believer on both sides of the picture. I would say the simple answer is let her clerks do it. Now from what I understand, she’s not letting her clerks do it either. The other simple answer is rather than going through this because it’s really a very, very sticky situation, a terrible situation, 30 miles away they have other places. They have many other places where you get licensed. and you have them actually quite nearby. That’s another alternative. I hate to see her being put in jail. I understand what they’re doing. It would be certainly nice if she didn’t do it but other people in her office do it. But from what I understand, she won’t allow other people in her office to do it. You have to go with it. I mean you have to go with it. The decision has been made, and that is the law of the land.”

Whatever happened to class?

Trump in Las Vegas last night. This is what you would get folks. What a role model.

As for Libya and Iraq, Trump said last night he’s not concerned about those countries unless America can profit from their oil. They should pay for the protections the United States offers, he said.

“When we have a war, we lose thousands of lives, we spend trillions of dollars and then we leave,” he said. “I say we go in and take their oil.”

Great. Now he’s saying we go steal other country’s assets.

And now there are reports that Donald Trump subjected female employees to frequent sexual harassment, forcing them to endure the lewd and lascivious remarks he made to them. Trump, furthermore, often harassed, demeaned and humiliated his gay employees by referring to them collectively as “the faggots.” Donald Trump, in other words, abused his position of power as an employer to degrade his employees, bullying them on the basis of their gender and/or sexual orientation.

And from politicususa.com: His contemptuous and disrespectful attitude towards women is seen in various remarks he has made about his wives. In February, 2008, he told ABC’s Nightline “I just know it’s very hard for them (Ivana and Marla) to compete because I do love what I do. I really love it.” It is more than evident that Donald Trump loves what he does – and what he does is to use his public position to inflame archaic, irrational bigotries and sexism in the more unenlightened portions of the American populace.

Julian Long, former employee, says that one evening, after a performance conducted by Leonard Bernstein, in the Green Room, Trump was present with a young blonde female escort, not Marla Maples on his arm. Julian overheard Trump refer to Maestro Bernstein as a “Faggot Jew.”

More recently, Trump has engaged in public bullying and intimidation of American LGBTers, inciting his followers to perpetuate institutionalized discrimination against them. He is still on his ignoble warpath of hate and idiocy, using President Obama as a proxy through which to lash out at and emotionally wound a majority of African-Americans.

This is what you get. I find it hard to believe he will really run for President with a history of public statements like the one in this video. But stranger things have happened.

And America has a history that if you throw enough money at something, you can buy it.
