Battery Acid Thrown In Milwaukee Man’s Face After Being Accused Of Being In US Illegally

Milwaukee police have made an arrest after a man was attacked and burned with acid in what officials say is a hate crime.

Mahud Villalaz suffered second-degree burns to his face after he was confronted by a man he says accused him of being in the country illegally. Villalaz, a U.S. citizen and Latino, says the man approached him in front of a restaurant Friday night, told him he didn’t belong in the country and threw acid from a container on him.

Surveillance video shows Villalaz stumbling away from the suspect, who police say is white.

This “type of racial verbal attack and now physical attack is condoned in the highest level of government in our country,” Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett told reporters Monday, according to Wisconsin Public Radio. “This anger towards people of other countries is being fed by our president — and by his followers. What we saw over the weekend is a manifestation of that anger.” “Everybody knows what’s happening,” he continued. “It’s because the president’s talking about it on a daily basis that people feel they have a license to go after Hispanic people.” The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports Clifton A. Blackwell, 61, was arrested Saturday, hours after the Friday night confrontation that left Villalaz with second-degree burns on his face.

Blackwell’s mother told the Journal-Sentinal her son has been under the care of the Department of Veterans Affairs in Milwaukee for post-traumatic stress disorder stemming from earlier service in the Marine Corps.

That statement seems to justify Blackwell’s violence by calling him a veteran. How does being a veteran explain carrying a bottle of battery acid with you? And before people come after me, I come from a military family. My dad was a major in the Air Force serving in two wars. I have nothing against veterans, just racists.

Gay Trump Supporter Shows Their Transphobia (Then Deletes It)

On Monday, I reported on the recent New York Times profile of former ‘liberal” gay couple, Bryan Eure and husband Bill White, who after years of supporting Democratic politicians, jumped ship the night of the 2016 presidential election and suddenly became Trump supporters.

And when I write “the night of,” Bill White literally left Hillary Clinton’s event in Manhattan as the returns came in and drove across town to Donald Trump’s party immediately shifting his loyalty in the blink of an eye.

Now, the duo are throwing $5 million fundraisers for the Trumpster and boast about having Don Trump Jr. on speed dial.

It turns out the couple has even more in common with Donald Trump than we knew. Eure, a commercial insurance broker, has just as much animus towards the transgender community as his idol does.

Upon publication of the NY Times piece, activist/drag queen Marti Gould Cummings took to Instagram to comment on Eure’s gushing obsession for the current White House resident.

“This is shameful and disgusting,” Cummings wrote. “Chelsea didn’t wave at you, Hillary didn’t take a photo so you jump ship … The incredible privilege you have shows in this article. You could be using your wealth to help transgender people [whom] Trump is actively discriminating against or you could use it to help families seeking asylum. You are both gross.”

To which social climber Eure replied, “Transgender is gross.”

Eure deleted the exchange but Cummings screen-capped the comment before it disappeared into the ether and posted it to his account with the caption, “Hey @euregram you can delete your reply but just to remind people that you posted it — here ya go.”

The internet IS forever, don’t you know?

But Eure wasn’t done revealing himself. It seems he really, really likes attention.

The profile in the Times apparently didn’t fawn over him enough, so he wrote his own version of his Trump love affair for the far-right leaning website, The Daily Caller.

In his self-penned essay he takes umbrage over the fact that people were offended a gay man’s defense of Donald Trump being dismissed with his statement, “I don’t believe in identity politics.”

He also shares his wealthy, white privilege by announcing, “I’m 39-years-old. I grew up in the new world — where we were all in school together and there was no true discrimination.”

“No true discrimination?” People of color, LGBTQ folks or women don’t experience discrimination?

I think Mr. Eure has spent a lot more time in the Hamptons than he has “the new world.”

Folks in the Twitterverse weren’t too taken with the self-proclaimed ‘power couple.’

The Unwitting: Trump Supporters Refuse To Believe They Were Played By Russian Disruptors

In light of the facts laid out in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment of 13 Russian activists meddling in the 2016 election, CNN went out to speak to Trump supporters whose Facebook pages actually interacted with identified Russian “fake Trump” social media accounts.

It will come as no surprise that no amount of evidence will convince these “geniuses” that they were played by the Russians.

Florine Gruen Goldfarb runs the Team Trump Broward County Facebook page, which posted numerous times about events that were promoted and encouraged by the Russians. Speaking to CNN on Sunday, she said she didn’t believe she was influenced by the Russians and said she thought that Friday’s indictment was a ploy to distract from the FBI’s mishandling of tip-offs it had received about the Parkland, Florida school shooter.

One reason Goldfarb was skeptical about the claim of Russian involvement goes back to the Russians’ tactics: They were not faking rallies or supporters, but trying to prompt real Americans who already backed a cause to turn out in support of it. Goldfarb attended the Fort Lauderdale “Florida Goes Trump” event. She told CNN that she knew all of the people there, “they were at my meetings. They’re all Trump supporters.”

Watch below as Goldfarb absolutely denies the possibility that she might have communicated via Facebook with Russian disruptors.

And yet – she did.
