At a ceremony on today commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a direct slap at Donald Trump’s “America first” approach to international affairs.

“Nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism,” said Macron. “By saying, ‘Our interests first, who cares about the others,’ we erase what a nation holds dearest, what gives it life, what gives it grace and what is essential: its moral values.”

Trump, along with 80 other world leaders, was sitting just feet away from Macron at the time.

The Trumpster famously declared himself a “nationalist” recently as he campaigned for the midterm elections.

The video below shows the world’s leaders gathering for the ceremony, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom Trump beamed at seeing, as well as part of Macron’s speech.

This comes just a day after Trump decided to skip a ceremony at an American cemetery honoring fallen WWI soldiers because of a light fall of rain.

The Twitterverse was more than happy to show off tons of photos of President Obama at past Memorial Day events in the rain.

Colton Haynes Leads The Shade Brigade On Kim Kardashian

Colton Haynes (image via Instagram)

Colton Haynes, star of Arrow & Teen Wolf, just went there as the shade brigade over Kim Kardashian’s eyebrow-raising Instagram pic.

Ms. Kim shared a photo last week via social media meant to promote Kanye West’s Adidas sneaker line, Butter350.

But it wasn’t the kicks that got attention but her body position on a bed that looked like a dead body at a crime scene.

Here’s the post which was captioned “Like butter. #Butter350’s #yeezy.”

A post shared by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on Aug 6, 2018 at 8:06am PDT

Haynes shared his take on the pic to his huge Instagram followers as he mimicked not only her body position and caption, but went further with a bit of Photoshop fun.

At this writing, over 655,000 folks has liked Haynes’ post.

Fellow Instagrammers began sharing their own recreations of the now-infamous pic:

Trump Trolls Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Kasich Claps Back

Ohio Gov. John Kasich

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a former presidential opponent of Donald Trump, recently made some television appearances underscoring the very, very narrow win by Republican Troy Balderson in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District, whom Donald Trump endorsed.

Pointing to Balderson’s less-than-1-percent advantage over Democrat Danny O’Connor, Kasich made the case that the slim margin was due to Trump’s constant “chaos” which has become a turn-off for moderate suburban women in last Tuesday’s special election.

Trump slapped back at Kasich on Twitter, and Kasich didn’t pause to throw some shade of his own with a laughing Putin gif.

McDonalds Trolls Chick-Fil-A With “Welcome” Message

A Connecticut McDonalds appeared to be throwing shade at its new neighbor, a Chick-Fil-A restaurant over its history of anti-gay policies

Did McDonald’s just shade Chick-Fil-A?

A new Chick-Fil-A restaurant is opening in Glastonbury, Connecticut, right next to a McDonalds, and over the weekend, locals noticed a message on the McDonalds sign which read, “We Welcome Everyone.”

In the past, Chick-Fil-A has caught some serious criticism for the owner’s opposition to LGBTQ rights like same-sex marriage.

Founded in 1946 by religiously conservative S. Truett Cathy, and now run by his family, the chain’s policies have often been guided by those beliefs including allowing none of the restaurants to be open on Sundays in order to give employees ‘a day of rest.’

The general manager of the McDonalds told the local NBC affiliate that the sign’s message wasn’t political in nature.

“It just means that everyone is welcome, young old, everyone,” she said.

Most folks liked the message.

Tina Manus of Stratford drove almost an hour to show her support.

“For McDonald’s to step up and say we welcome everyone,” she told NBC. “I feel that is a huge step for them. Then in the background you have Chick-fil-A who has historically not welcomed everyone.”

Zack Caporale of Glastonbury wasn’t feeling it thought.

“I feel like it’s kind of rude to Chick-fil-A because they have Christian beliefs, but that doesn’t mean they have to not accept gay people,” said Caporale.

Jordan Snook, the franchise owner of the new Chick-Fil-A wasn’t quite sure what to think about the McDonalds message but issued a statement which read:

“We are excited to open in Glastonbury next week, and look forward to being great neighbors who welcome everyone. Glastonbury will be representative of all Chick-fil-A restaurants in serving great food and providing remarkable service for all customers, as well as a diverse workplace of individuals who represent many viewpoints, opinions, backgrounds and beliefs.”

Mitch McConnell Shades Failed WV Senate Candidate Don Blankenship

Last night was the first big night of mid-term election action as Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia held their primaries.

Republicans were highly tense over the possibility that coal baron, Don Blankenship, might prevail in the West Virginia race for the GOP nod.

Blankenship, who had gone to prison for his part in the accidental deaths of 29 coal miners, was surging in the polls in the final days before last night’s voting.

Along the way, Blankenship trolled Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell saying he would not support McConnell if elected and referred to the Majority Leader as “‘Cocaine’ Mitch.”

To the Republicans’ relief, state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey prevailed.

But McConnell couldn’t resist trolling Blankenship with a rather sassy image of himself seemingly covered in a white powdery substance with the caption, “Thanks for playing, Don.”

Via the Chicago Tribune:

The image appears to be a doctored promotional image from the Netflix drug lord series “Narcos.” The campaign’s meme superimposed McConnell’s face onto the figure of Pablo Escobar covered in white powder. The Hill‘s Will Sommer found the relevant promo.

The campaign’s meme was apparently a reference to “Cocaine Mitch,” the nickname Blankenship tossed at McConnell in a bizarre attack ad released in the final days of the campaign. The Blankenship spot also took swipes at the “China people” behind the senator, a reference to McConnell’s wife’s family.

Robin Roberts Throws Omarosa Shade – “Bye Felecia”

Omarosa Manigault Newman

Yesterday I reported on the firing of reality TV personality Omarosa Manigault Newman from her position in the Trump administration.

Today, Omarosa made the rounds of news shows denying the reports she was forcibly removed from the White House grounds. As usual with the former TV villainess, there’s more and more drama surrounding her even as she exits.

But the best part of the Omarosa departure was a short comment this morning on Good Morning America.

At the end of the segment wherein Omarosa tried to preface some future media attention saying she has “quite the story to tell,” Robin Roberts threw some serious shade with a subtle “Bye, Felecia.”

Delicious.
