Jon Stewart on the 2013 NRA Convention

Jon Stewart runs down the cray cray at the NRA Convention this past weekend in Texas.

The kids in Houston got off to a slow start as they really do more “2016 campaigning” than talk about guns. But they eventually get around to guns. Kinda.

Stewart breaks down the contradictions in the speechifying much better than I can. Take a look…

Sarah Palin: President Obama “writes the book on exploiting tragedy”

Sarah Palin, the former half-term governor of Alaska, gave a speech at the NRA convention Friday where she said President Obama “writes the book on exploiting tragedy” regarding the shooting tragedy in Newtown, CT.

She also stated that politicians practice the “politics of emotion” in regards to their response to tragic events. I’m guessing that’s not how she saw President Bush’s response to 9/11 when HE responded to a national crisis. Remember WMDs?

When she talks about “government BY the people,” she’s not mentioning that 90% of Americans want universal background checks on guns. Wouldn’t following the will of the people be to do what the people want?

If you can bear it, hit the video above to see what other “red meat” she had to throw to her peeps.

Sarah Palin bitter over no invite to White House Correspondence Dinner

Note the language used here – “working OUR asses off”

This is from the person who QUIT her job as governor HALF-WAY through her one term.  In other words  – she quit a high level prestigious job because it wasn’t enough for her.  And she has the NERVE to say she’s now one of millions who are “working our asses off”???

JoeMyGod points to this pic of Palin at the 2011 Vanity Fair after-party for the White House Correspondents Dinner with that year’s host, Seth Myers.  Other “assclowns” who have attended the Nerd Prom include Todd Palin and Bristol Palin.  Note that the former half-term governor didn’t have a problem with the event when she or family members were invited.

Tina Fey revives Sarah Palin impression – Inside The Actor’s Studio

Tina Fey brought back her impression of the former half-term governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, for James Lipton on Wednesday night’s Inside the Actors’ Studio, and Lipton quizzed the Mama Grizzly on several topics, including same-sex marriage.

Said Fey’s Palin on gun control: “You know, Jimmy, I believe that if everybody had guns, then there would be fewer guns in the stores.”

On same-sex marriage: “Well, the Bible says it’s gross.  Marriage is meant for people who wear different kinds of swimsuits.”

Check out the whole clip.  Love, love, love Tina Fey!

Eye roll of the day: Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin, former half term governor of Alaska, says America will eventually default on its debt and claims that the federal government is “stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest” to prepare:

“If we are going to wet our proverbial pants over 0.3% in annual spending cuts when we’re running up trillion dollar annual deficits, then we’re done. Put a fork in us. We’re finished.

“We’re going to default eventually and that’s why the feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest,” Palin wrote in a Facebook message Tuesday.

Sarah Palin and Fox News no longer a team

Former half-term Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has parted ways with the network, according to RealClearPolitics.

Palin had been a contributor the cable news network since January 2010. That means she stayed with Fox longer than she did her elected job as Governor for the state of Alaska.

The Fox spokesperson did not say whose decision the departure was, but the New York Times said that Palin’s contract had expired, and was not picked up, despite negotiations that continued as recently as last week.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin,” Bill Shine, Fox News’ executive vice president, programming, said. “We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Interetingly, Palin has remained silent on the split on her Facebook page and Twitter account, which she regularly uses to to share her news and opinions.

Bye-bye Ms. Palin, seems like we hardly knew you…

Ever the victim…

Can you believe it’s been four years since we began the dark national journey that is Sarah Palin?

Ever the victim, she took to her Facebook page to complain that she wasn’t able to “honor” John McCain tonight.

I’m sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight. Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. I look forward to hearing his words to his fellow Americans tonight more than any of the other convention speeches. God bless John McCain. Thank you for everything. And happy birthday, my friend  – Sarah Palin

I guess she now considers Fox News part of the “liberal media?”

I’m sure it really was all about John McCain, and not another chance for her to revel in the spotlight just a few minutes more…

Bless her heart…

Former half-term governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, will not speak at GOP Convention

There are “other voices to speak at the convention.”

Sarah Palin’s statement via FoxNewsInsider.com:

“…Everything I said at the 2008 convention about then-candidate Obama still stands today, and in fact the predictions made about the very unqualified and inexperienced Community Organizer’s plans to “fundamentally transform” our country are unfortunately coming true. This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I’m excited to hear them. As I’ve repeatedly said, I support Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in their efforts to replace President Obama at the ballot box, and I intend to focus on grassroots efforts to rally Independents and the GOP base to elect Senate and House members so a wise Congress is ready to work with our new President to get our country back on the right path. This is imperative. As President Clinton said in 2008 while candidate Obama and lapdogs in the media were thrashing his wife’s record and reputation, this is “…the biggest fairy tale.” For the sake of America’s solvency and sovereignty we must close this nonsensical book in November…”
