The former lawyer for “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli says he regrets the day he ever met the pharmaceutical executive.

Evan Greebel made the statement during his sentencing hearing for wire and securities fraud conspiracy where U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto ruled Greebel will spend 18 months in prison and pay $10 million in restitution and $115,000 in forfeiture payments.

“I will regret every day of my life the day I met Martin Shkreli,” said Greebel.

“I dread the day my children decide to search my name on the internet,” the 45-year-old lawyer added.

Greebel was convicted in December of conspiring with Shkreli to repay the pharmaceutical executive’s defrauded investors.

Shkreli was sentenced to 7 years in prison this past May.

Sobbing “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison

“Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli

Total asshole “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli was sentenced to 7 years in prison today for defrauding investors.

Shkreli reportedly sobbed as U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto announced the prison sentence saying he knew he’d made mistakes and apologized to his investors.

Prosecutors had called for a 15 years in prison while Shkreli’s lawyers argued for 18 months or less because his investors in two failed hedge funds got their money back, and their client shouldn’t be punished for being outspoken.

Judge Matsumoto assured the defense team did not take Shkreli’s outside actions into account in the sentencing.

The “Pharma Bro” became infamous for jacking up the price of a life-saving AIDS drug by 5,000% from $13 to $750 overnight. That was followed by trolling his many critics on Twitter with his snarky personality.

Martin “Pharma Douche” Shkreli Has Bail Revoked After Encouraging Followers To Grab Hillary Clinton’s Hair

Martin Shkreli

Martin “Pharma Douche” Shkreli just learned how his smart-ass ways can get him locked up without bail.

Last week, while awaiting sentencing after being convicted of defrauding investors, Shkreli took to Facebook offering to pay his followers $5,000 if they would grab a strand of Hillary Clinton’s hair during her book tour.

In court yesterday, U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto found no humor in the antics and revoked his bail.

Shkreli, who faces up to 20 years in prison for securities fraud, apologized in writing, saying that he did not expect anyone to take his online comments seriously, and his attorneys pleaded with the judge Wednesday to give him another chance.

“The fact that he continues to remain unaware of the inappropriateness of his actions or words demonstrates to me that he may be creating ongoing risk to the community,” said Judge Matsumoto, as she revoked his bond.

“This is a solicitation of assault. That is not protected by the First Amendment.”

Shkreli is facing up to 20 years in prison for securities fraud.

He’ll now remain locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until his sentencing in January 2018.

“Pharma Douche” Martin Shkreli Found Guilty Of Fraud

Martin Shkreli, the “most hated man in America”

Infamous “pharma douche” Martin Shkreli, has been convicted on three of eight counts on Friday, after a five-week trial in the Federal District Court in Brooklyn.

Accused of eight counts of securities and wire fraud, Shkreli now faces up to 20 years in prison.

From the New York Times:

The conviction, even as a mixed verdict, was a shattering defeat for the divisive Mr. Shkreli, who said before the trial that he was “so innocent” that the judge, jury and prosecutors would apologize to him afterward.

Mr. Shkreli was accused of securities and wire fraud related to two hedge funds he ran, MSMB Capital and MSMB Healthcare. Prosecutors charged he then illegally used a pharmaceutical company he founded, Retrophin, to repay the defrauded MSMB investors.

The prosecution brought forth an “avalanche” of evidence, as the prosecutor Jacquelyn Kasulis put it in her rebuttal argument, that included a threatening letter he sent to the wife of a former employee, statements he sent to MSMB investors showing great returns at the same time he had no money in fund accounts, three versions of a backdated agreement to make it look as if MSMB Capital had invested in Retrophin when it had not, as well as claims about assets under management that were wildly out of line with his actual fund size.

“It’s time for Martin Shkreli to be held accountable,” she said.

Shkreli came to the public spotlight after raising the price of a drug called Daraprim from $13.50 to $750 overnight. However, this case had nothing to do with the Daraprim debacle.

Hundreds Protest And Shut Down Homocon Milo Yiannopoulos’ Event In California

While I don’t support violence as a form of protest, I do support the hundreds of protesters right to raise their voices.

From CNN:

A speech by right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos’ at UC Davis was over before it even started Friday after protests erupted, forcing sponsors to cancel the event. Thirty minutes before the Breitbart tech editor was scheduled to speak, the UC Davis College Republicans canceled the controversial talk after consulting with the university’s police department and student affairs officials. Former pharmaceutical executive, Martin Shkreli had also been scheduled to speak at the event.

“I am deeply disappointed with the events of this evening,” said Interim Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter. “Our community is founded on principles of respect for all views, even those that we personally find repellent. As I have stated repeatedly, a university is at its best when it listens to and critically engages opposing views, especially ones that many of us find upsetting or even offensive.”

Earlier in the evening, protesters blocked access to the venue. Surrounding the lecture hall with signs, they chanted, “Say it loud, say it clear, racists are not welcome here.” Yiannopoulos posted on Facebook that the event had been canceled “after violence from left-wing protestors.”

“Pharma-Bro” Martin Shkreli Escorted From Congressional Hearing After Pleading The Fifth

“Pharma-bro”/douchebag Martin Shkreli made his appearance today in front of the House Oversight Committee hearing regarding his now infamous pricing-gouging activities.

The smarmy one decided to hide behind the Fifth Amendment and not answer a single question, including one about his Wu-Tang Clan record purchase. Most of his appearance was comprised of laughing, yawning and twirling a pencil.

Eventually he was booted from the hearing. Shkreli broke his silence on Twitter by calling the congressmen “Imbeciles” on Twitter.

Coward.

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton weighed in via Twitter herself:

Top 10 Scandals & Controversies Of 2015

End of the year means all those “Top 10” lists. I love “Top 10” Lists.

CNN shares this look back at the scandals and controversies of 2015.

Included on the list this year are “most hated man in America,” Martin Shkeli (who jacked the price of an HIV drug by 5000%) and Josh “Sanctity of Marriage” Duggar.

Martin Shkreli – “Most Hated Man In America” – Arrested On Stock Fraud

Now dubbed “Most Hated Man in America,” Martin Shkreli was arrested today and charged in an illegal stock scheme.

A boyish drug company entrepreneur, who rocketed to infamy by jacking up the price of a life-saving pill from $13.50 to $750, was arrested on securities fraud related to a firm he founded.

Martin Shkreli, 32, ignited a firestorm over drug prices in September and became a symbol of defiant greed. The federal case against him has nothing to do with pharmaceutical costs, however. Prosecutors charged him with illegally taking stock from Retrophin Inc., a biotechnology firm he started in 2011, and using it pay off debts from unrelated business dealings. He was later ousted from the company, where he’d been chief executive officer, and sued by its board.

In the case that closely tracks that suit, federal prosecutors accused Shkreli of engaging in a complicated shell game after his defunct hedge fund, MSMB Capital Management, lost millions. He is alleged to have made secret payoffs and set up sham consulting arrangements.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. I wonder if he’ll look that smug in jail…?

Shkreli’s most recent douchebag move was to acquire the rights to a drug used to treat Chagas disease. Shkreli has announced his plan to get approval for the drug in the United States and sell it for around $60,000 to $100,000 for a course of treatment. In Latin America, where the disease is most prevalent, the drug costs only $50 to $100.

Generic Meds Company To Sell Martin Shkreli’s AIDS Drug For $1

Take a look at that smirk. It probably won’t be there much any longer.

After hiking the price of Daraprim (a $1 pill taken primarily by AIDS patients) over 5000%, Martin Shkreli  – the most hated man in pharmaceuticals – is about to be torpedoed by the maker of generic drugs who now plan on selling the pill for $1 again.

San Diego-based Imprimis Pharmaceuticals Inc., which mixes approved drug ingredients to fill individual patient prescriptions, said Thursday it will supply capsules containing Daraprim’s active ingredients, pyrimethamine and leucovorin, for $99 for a 100-capsule bottle, via its site: www.imprimiscares.com.

The 3 1/2-year-old drug compounding firm also plans to start making inexpensive versions of other generic drugs whose prices have skyrocketed, Chief Executive Mark Baum told The Associated Press.

“We are looking at all of these cases where the sole-source generic companies are jacking the price way up,” Baum said in an interview. “There’ll be many more of these” compounded drugs coming in the near future.
