New Poll: Donald Trump Leads Competitors By 20 Points

A new CNN/ORC poll shows White House hopeful Donald Trump way ahead of his fellow GOP competitors.

The Donald looks to have his biggest lead yet in the race for Republican nominee for 2016:

Donald Trump: 36%
Sen. Ted Cruz: 16%
Ben Carson: 14%
Sen. Marco Rubio: 12%

It’s interesting to note a friend from Texas, who is a Republican, wondered my direction why folks are paying so much attention to Trump. My friend said, “He’s a clown.  He’ll never be the nominee.”

Well…?

Wait for Trump to go after Ted Cruz in 3, 2, 1…

South Florida Sun-Sentinel Responds To Marco Rubio’s

Following Sen. Rubio’s dismissal of the Sun-Sentinel’s editorial at this week’s Republican debate, the newspaper’s editorial board responded to Rubio’s comments.

During the debate, when former Gov. Jeb Bush similarly underscored Rubio’s terrible attendance record, the senator said Bush was simply trying to score political points. As for the Sun Sentinel, he said we showed a liberal bias.

For the record, we’d note that we endorsed Rubio for the Senate in 2010, and Mitt Romney for president in 2012, because we were frustrated by the pace of hope and change in Washington, and they both promised to work hard to make a difference.

But ever since he got to Washington, it seems Rubio has been running for higher office.

If Rubio wants to be president, he should go for it, give it all he’s got, full steam ahead. But the demands of the presidential campaign have proven too great for him to do his day job.

South Florida Sun-Sentinel To Sen. Marco Rubio: Do Your Job Or Resign

Sen. Marco Rubio recently shared with the Washington Post that he was “frustrated” serving in the U.S. Senate.

Today, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel published an editorial telling Rubio, frustrated or not, he needs to spend more time doing the job Floridians sent him there to do.

Sorry, senator, but Floridians sent you to Washington to do a job. We’ve got serious problems with clogged highways, eroding beaches, flat Social Security checks and people who want to shut down the government.

If you hate your job, senator, follow the honorable lead of House Speaker John Boehner and resign it.

Let us elect someone who wants to be there and earn an honest dollar for an honest day’s work. Don’t leave us without one of our two representatives in the Senate for the next 15 months or so.

You are paid $174,000 per year to represent us, to fight for us, to solve our problems. Plus you take a $10,000 federal subsidy — declined by some in the Senate — to participate in one of the Obamacare health plans, though you are a big critic of Obamacare.

You are ripping us off, senator.

[snip]

Your job is to represent Floridians in the Senate.

Either do your job, Sen. Rubio, or resign it.

U.S. Senators are paid $174,000 a year. In addition, Rubio takes a federal subsidy to participate in Obamacare to the tune of $10,000.

Rubio has missed over 60 Senate votes, in part because he’s busy campaigning for the GOP presidential nomination.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, by comparison, has been campaigning for the Democratic nomination and only missed 10 votes in the Senate.

Did Marco Rubio Just Violate Senate Ethics Rules On Fundraising?

Rubio gave an interview to Fox News’ Neil Cavuto on Tuesday, speaking from the Russell Senate Office Building. When asked about lagging behind some of his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, the senator attempted to tout the strength of his fundraising.

In doing so, however, Rubio made a direct appeal for donations.

“I knew we wouldn’t be the leading fundraiser in this race, because we are not the top choice of the entrenched political establishment,” Rubio told Cavuto. “But I’m confident we have the resources and continue to build the resources to be able to communicate our message. And obviously if somebody watching this program wants to help us, they should go to marcorubio.com and chip in.”

According to Senate ethics rules, “Senate Members and staff may not receive or solicit campaign contributions in any federal building.”

Campaign Ad: A Republican Salute To Hillary Clinton

Current GOP nominees praise Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton.

Emphatically.

Oh – of course, this was all before she began to run for prez.

How quickly they turn.

Very effective ad in that it literally uses their own words (Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and Donald Trump) from not long ago.

Homerun.

George W. Bush: Ted Cruz Is “Opportunistic” For “Sucking Up” To Donald Trump

Eyebrows were raised last night when former President George W. Bush unexpectedly ripped into several of his brother’s opponents in the GOP primary season at a Denver fundraising event, with Sen. Ted Cruz particularly in his crosshairs.

Via Raw Story:

Bush’s dismissive tone toward the Tea Party lawmaker — who worked on his campaign as a domestic policy advisor in 1999 — came as a surprise for many of the 100 donors at the event. At one point, Bush reportedly said of Cruz, “I just don’t like the guy.”

While the former Texas governor expressed confidence in his brother’s ability to win the party’s nomination, attendees said, he was generally pleasant during his 35-minute speech, with the exception of his remarks on Cruz, who he reportedly accused of “hijacking” the GOP in both Texas and Washington.

“He said he found it ‘opportunistic’ that Cruz was sucking up to [Donald] Trump and just expecting all of his support to come to him in the end,” one attendee said, an allusion to Cruz’s somewhat warmer relationship with the current Republican front-runner.

Bush also reportedly criticized another candidate, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), although not as harshly

“He’s a young, first-term senator; I’m not sure if that qualifies you to be president,” Bush said of Rubio, according to two attendees, before quipping that should Cruz win the Republican presidential nomination, “I’ll be back here next year telling you that doesn’t matter.”

Donald Trump Mocks Marco Rubio As “Little Boy”

Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump mocked Sen. Marco Rubio today when he tweeted the above graphic.

Text of the graphic:

Never Hire A Boy To Do A Man’s Job.

Marco Rubio seems like a nice boy. Well mannered but bought & paid for. JEB and the PACS sat him down and taught him all that fancy government stuff. “RINO RUBE” repeats it well! Good Boy”

But sorry, little “RUBE”. You just don’t have the swagger to negotiate with Vladimir Putin and…actually run a country.

Maybe one day when you’re all grown up but for now, a real man will do the job. Now drink your milk and eat your cookies. Nappy time!
