Ever wonder WHAT exactly is happening inside your brain when you feel “love?”

Our friends at AsapSCIENCE bring us a new short video explaining that what happens to us when we feel love is similar to what happens to our brain’s on cocaine.

No, not a bad thing – just similar. Cool video. Love these science guys explaining the world around us.

10 Kids, 2 Dads – new series on Oprah Winfrey Network

10 Kids, 2 Dads, which airs tonight, August 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, takes viewers to a conservative town about 20 miles outside of Detroit, where gay couple Clint and Bryan are daddy and papa to 10 adopted sons from at-risk backgrounds.

When Clint and Bryan decided to start a family, they never dreamed that they’d end up with 10 kids. At equal turns funny and moving, this series follows a real-life Modern Family as they raise their adopted children in a chaotic, yet loving environment.

From light-hearted moments of painting the house or teaching the kids to drive, to heavier subjects like when one of the kids deals with bullying, this looks to be an honest and revealing look at family life in America.

Tune in for the premiere of 10 Kids, 2 Dads with back-to-back episodes Saturday, August 18th on OWN.

I’m definitely watching this tonight.

Dad gets “born this way” tattoo in honor of his son

From the youtube description:

“So: my brother came out that he was bisexual last year and it was one of the hardest things he’s ever had to do and one of the most courageous. He was most nervous about coming out to my old school Italian father who can be a bit of a hardass but mush at heart.”

“So my brother decided to get “born this way” tattooed on his wrist in Gaga’s handwriting after he met her, for obvious reasons, and it meant and still does a lot to him.”

My dad, yesterday before Dylan came home for spring break, got “born this way” in Italian tattooed on his wrist to show his acceptance and deep love for his only son who he is so proud of every day. I love my family.”

Pic of the day: Marine Homecoming

Marine Sgt. Brandon Morgan and boyfriend Dalan Wells kiss upon Morgan's return from Afghanistan.

In only a few hours this pic on Facebook has gotten almost 5,000 comments.

Dalan Wells (left) and Brandon Morgan (right) celebrate Brandon’s homecoming.

Brandon, a US Marine, responded to the outpouring:
“To everyone who has responded in a positive way. My partner and I want to say thank you. Dalan, the giant in the photo, can’t believe how many shares and likes we have gotten on this. We didn’t do this to get famous,or something like that we did this cause after 3 deployments and four years knowing each other, we finally told each other how we felt. As for the haters, let em hate…to quote Kat Williams, everyone needs haters, so let them hate. We are the happiest we have ever been and as for the whole PDA and kissing slash hugging in uniform…it was a homecoming, if the Sergeants Major, Captains, Majors, and Colonels around us didn’t care…then why do you care what these random people have to say? In summation thank you for your love and support. I received a lot of friend requests off this. I don’t just accept requests so if your request was because of this post message me and let me know. Goodnight all, and Semper Fi.” –Brandon Morgan

Music: New love and heartbreak

Facebook knows when you’ve met someone and it knows when you break up. We tell Facebook these things.

For some, a relationship doesn’t officially start until it’s reflected in the “Relationship” field on Facebook, and it’s not really over until Facebook says it is.

The data team at Facebook can see this data for hundreds of millions of people, and as of late last year, it started letting people share their listening activity through the social network.

Mashing these concepts together (relationships and music), the Facebook data team was able to track which songs people in new relationships are most likely to play, as well as the songs they cue up following a breakup.

The song most associated with new relationships was “Don’t Wanna Go Home” by Jason Derulo. On the other hand, the #1 song breakers-up tended to listen to “The Cave,” by Daniel Ek fave Mumford & Sons.

Here are the complete lists of the most popular music amongst the freshly love-struck or lovelorn created by Facebook’s data team – let me know what you think:

Syracuse men to marry today after 52-year relationship

Frederick Marvin keeps a day book for every year. The 91-year-old Syracuse concert pianist has boxes full of the little blacks books where he wrote what he ate, what music he played, where he traveled and who he met.

In his Syracuse house on a recent afternoon, he pulled the book from 1959 out of his basement. He was 39. Marvin flips to April 22. Halfway down the page, amid details about his travels, is this: met Ernst Schuh. It was a meeting that would change his life.

They two men found each other in the Abbey of St. Florian, an Austrian monastery. They both were there to see the grave of composer Anton Bruckner. Marvin was traveling across Europe, playing concerts. Schuh, who survived the battle of Stalingrad in World War II, was an opera critic in Vienna.

They have been together ever since. Now, 52 years later, the music lovers with matching hearing aids are getting married. Today in Syracuse’s City Hall, Mayor Stephanie Miner will perform the ceremony.
