Trump Announces Full Day Of “Meetings And Working The Phones;” Soon After Arrives At Trump Golf Course

Donald Trump hates for people to think he plays golf instead of working as our president.

The fact of the matter is Trump has now spent 77 days since taking office playing golf.

Which explains why there was a little waffling on Trump’s schedule for today per the White House.

At 6:51AM, the White House staff told the press pool that this would be a “low-key” day.

But just minutes later, clearly Trump didn’t like the message that sent, the WH staff corrected that statement saying “the press” would have a low-key day, but the Trumpster would have a “full schedule of meetings and phone calls.”

Trump even tweeted it out for the world to see.

But at 9:26AM Trump arrived at Trump International Golf Club in Florida to play golf.

As I’ve said before, I wouldn’t have a problem with a president playing golf occasionally.

But Trump spent much of the past 8 years criticizing President Obama for playing golf EVER.

And, on the campaign trail, Trump often told his followers there wouldn’t be time for golf because he’d be so busy working on behalf of the American people.

Hypocrisy is so confusing, isn’t it?

The Washington Post has composed this handy-dandy graphic showing when and where Trump visited his properties and golf courses.

Today Is Trump’s 73rd Day At Golf Course As President

MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin, noting Donald Trump’s schedule today: “This is his 73rd day at a golf club, 93rd day at a Trump property as president.”

Remember when Trump said he wouldn’t have any time for golf?

No? Let’s take a little trip on the way-back machine, shall we? Watch this medley of Trump’s “greatest hits” when he promised he’d never leave the White House.

Donald Trump’s 72nd Day At A Golf Course

Kyle Griffin, a producer for MSNBC’s The Last Word, keeps a running tally of Donald Trump’s golf days.

Today’s report: “Per pool, Trump has arrived at Trump Nat’l Golf Club in VA. This is his 72nd day at a golf club, 92nd day at a Trump property as president.”

I realize a lot of folks may not care about Trump golfing, but given his voluminous tweets raging about President Obama playing golf during his 8 years as prez, it’s interesting to note the hypocrisy.

In addition to railing about golf, citizen Trump also ranted about Obama going anywhere. As a candidate, Trump told his followers he’d probably never leave the White House because there was too much work to do.

Trump Covers NEWSWEEK: “Lazy Boy”

From the Newsweek article:

Now that he’s president, Trump frequently departs the White House and spends the weekend golfing at either his South Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, or his country club in the New Jersey suburb of Bedminster. The promise he’d made a year before was discarded so quickly, you have to wonder if he even remembers making it. Politico did the legwork: George W. Bush didn’t golf for the first five months of his presidency, while Obama stayed away from his beloved links for four months following his inauguration. Trump held out for all of two weeks. He has visited a golf club 40 times since taking office in January, according to the self-explanatory site Trump Golf Count, which estimates the forays have cost American taxpayers $55 million. Another Trump tracker, this one by The New York Times, finds that his visits to Trump-branded properties total 56 days, nearly a third of his time in office.

For those who think the “Trump Golf Count” is mean-spirited, I’ll just say had Trump not harangued Obama about golfing for years, and then turned to the golf course so incessantly himself in an amazing feat of hypocrisy, no one would care.

You get what you put out.

Donald Trump Spends 43rd Day At Golf Course As President

While Donald Trump is working hard tapping on his Twitter feed, he has found the time to make his 58th visit to a Trump property, and his 43rd trip to a golf course as president.

Remember the old days – when Trump abhorred presidents playing golf?

Trump To Spend 3 Weeks Vacationing At His New Jersey Golf Club

Just this past Wednesday, President Trump told Republican Senators that health care reform is so important, “We have to stay here. We shouldn’t leave town, and we should hammer this out and get it done.”

Well, “we” somehow didn’t include the Trumpster himself.

News outlets are now reporting Trump plans to spend a whopping 3 weeks in Bedminster, New Jersey, beginning August 3rd.

Trump will be staying at his golf resort there (more money for his business, don’t you know) after “slaving” for six months as president.

Today was his 41st day at a golf course as president. Just saying…

Of course, some of you might remember this from the 2016 campaign:

And then, there are the tweets condemning President Obama every time he played golf over 8 years. Here’s just a sample:

Trump Makes His 19th Trip To Golf Course In Less Than 3 Months As President

President Trump

It’s the weekend, which means President Trump is more likely than not on a golf course.

As a matter of fact, Trump has taken 19 trips to a golf course since his inauguration.

Personally, I wouldn’t care about Trump’s golf habit had it not been such a sticking point for the Trumpster to continually criticize President Obama for playing golf during his presidency.

Additionally, Trump spent many a tweet on ranting about Obama’s travel costs to the American taxpayer.

And yet, it’s turning out that Trump is the one running up a hefty travel bill being paid by his constituents.

On top of his many trips to his Florida resort Mar-a-Lago, he’s making money charging the U.S. Secret Service to follow him.

CBS News reports that Trump has invoiced the Secret Service over $35,185 for golf cart rentals so the agents could keep him safe on the golf course. Those are HIS golf carts he’s renting out.

In related news, taxpayers have paid over $190,000 just to provide security for Trump spawns Don Jr. and Eric as they travel the world on business.

Trump Takes 10th Trip To The Golf Course In 8 Weeks As Prez

President Trump took his 10th trip to a golf course today in Florida.

His travels this weekend to his Mar-a-Lago resort mark his fifth in 8 weeks in office as president.

Estimates put each trip to Mar-a-Lago at a cost of about $3 million to the American taxpayers.

The irony here is that Trump relentlessly criticized President Obama for taking time off.

Let’s take a trip in the way back machine just to underline the hypocrisy:

And just a few more, courtesy of NBC News editor Bradd Jaffy:

Trump Spends More Taxpayer Money In One Month On Vacations Than Obama In A Year

President Trump, who used to denounce the vacations President Obama took due to the American taxpayer having to foot security bills, isn’t having any problem spending taxpayer money on himself.

From The Independent:

The US President’s three visits to his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida since his presidential inauguration, combined with his sons’ business trips, reportedly cost $11.3m.

Conservative watchdog Judicial Watch estimated Mr Obama’s travel expenses totalled an average $12.1m in each of his eight years in the White House.

“This is an expensive way to conduct business, and the President should recognise that,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, speaking to the Washington Post.

“The unique thing about President Trump is that he knows what it costs to run a plane.

“Going down [to Mar-a-Lago] ain’t free.”

The three Mar-a-Lago trips in Palm Beach cost the federal treasury around $10m, based on figures used in an October government report analysing White House travel.

This includes cash for coast guards to patrol the exposed shoreline.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw also says it has cost local taxpayers $360,000 in police overtime for his three weekends in Florida since 20 January.

Each trip to Mar-a-Lago reportedly costs taxpayers $3 million.

During the campaign, Trump told the press he “would rarely leave the White House” if he were president. Only one month into his administration, he’s made three trips already to Mar-a-Lago.

Back in the day, Trump was often critical of President Obama for what he considered excessive spending on behalf of the American people.

No such reservations now, huh?
