Former mistress says LA Clippers owner is actually gay

V. Stiviano, former girlfriend/mistress of LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling, has asserted that Sterling is not only a racist, but is actually gay, and she was paid to act as his “beard.”

Sterling’s wife, Shelly, filed a lawsuit against Stiviano depicting her as a money-grubbing femme fatale who convinced the former Clippers owner into giving her a Ferrari, hundreds of thousands in cash and a $1.8 million house in LA.

Stiviano denied the allegations and answered in court documents saying that Donald Sterling was gay.

Via the NY Daily News:

“V.S. was D.T.S’s beard for three years prior to the filing of suit,” the answer claimed. “V.S. is informed and believes that (Sterling) is a homosexual and enjoys sexual acts and or sexual congress with males.”

The answer said that Shelly Sterling was “acutely aware of his orientation and condoned” his behavior, including his decision to give “gifts, money and other properties” to Stiviano for her public companionship.

“Such gifts” were lavished “in the capacity” of Stiviano being “D.T.S. and Shelly’s beard,” the answer said.

Pastor Larry Tomczak: Men are “effeminate” as punishment for being gay

According to conservative Tennessee pastor and media pundit Pastor Larry Tomzcak, gay men are “effeminate” because God.

Or something.

Not sure what that means for bears or the leather community, but, whatever…

Transcript:

“I have watched people go into a lifestyle, and all of a sudden they become…a man starts to become very effeminate — mannerisms, speech. I’ve seen the reverse, I’ve seen the same thing with women start becoming mannish. What’s going on? They’re taking in their bodies a penalty for deviating from God’s loving design and plan.”

Chicago: Researchers find further evidence that male sexuality influenced by genes

A new study by researchers in Chicago, Illinois, has found new evidence that male sexuality is influenced by genes.

From The Guardian:

Scientists tested the DNA of 400 gay men and found that genes on at least two chromosomes affected whether a man was gay or straight.

A region of the X chromosome called Xq28 had some impact on men’s sexual behaviour – though scientists have no idea which of the many genes in the region are involved, nor how many lie elsewhere in the genome.

Another stretch of DNA on chromosome 8 also played a role in male sexual orientation – though again the precise mechanism is unclear.

Researchers have speculated in the past that genes linked to homosexuality in men may have survived evolution because they happened to make women who carried them more fertile. This may be the case for genes in the Xq28 region, as the X chromosome is passed down to men exclusively from their mothers.

Michael Bailey, a psychologist at Northwestern University in Illinois, set out the findings at a discussion event held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Chicago on Thursday. “The study shows that there are genes involved in male sexual orientation,” he said.

The work has yet to be published, but confirms the findings of a smaller study that sparked widespread controversy in 1993, when Dean Hamer, a scientist at the US National Cancer Institute, investigated the family histories of more than 100 gay men and found homosexuality tended to be inherited.

CBS reporter Itay Hod outs IL Republican congressman Aaron Schock

Illinois congressman Aaron Schock

CBS News reporter Itay Hod wrote the following on his Facebook page last night.

“Here’s a hypothetical: What if you know a certain GOP congressman, let’s just say from Illinois, is gay… and you know this because one of your friends, a journalist for a reputable network, told you in no uncertain terms that he caught that GOP congressman and his male roommate in the shower… together. Now they could have been good friends just trying to conserve water. But there’s more. What if this congressman has also been caught by TMZ cameras trolling gay bars?

“Now what if you know that this very same guy, the darling of the GOP, has also voted against repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, opposed the repeal of DOMA, is against gay marriage; and for the Federal Marriage Amendment, which would add language to the US Constitution banning gay marriage and would likely strike down every gay rights law and ordinance in the country? Are we still not allowed to out him?

“Let me ask another question. Doesn’t the media have an OBLIGATION to expose his hypocrisy? If he had done something so hypocritical and he wasn’t gay, wouldn’t we demand journalists do their job? But they can’t… because we won’t let them. you’re not allowed to out ANYONE, we tell them. We’ve created a situation where even though news organizations know this guy is gay, they can’t report it because he hasn’t said so on Twitter.”

For those who follow such things, Hod is clearly referring to Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL.). For years Schock has been on the radar of the LGBT political radar for his anti-gay votes and positions, even as many have suggested that it’s very very very very possible that he’s living a gay life on the downlow.

I should note that Rep. Aaron Schock is really really anti-gay policy. Here’s a recap:

  • Schock voted against adding sexual orientation to the already-existing hate crimes law.
  • Schock opposed the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
  • Schock opposes the repeal of DOMA.
  • Schock is against gay marriage.
  • Schock is for the Federal Marriage Amendment, which would add language to the US Constitution banning gay marriage and likely striking down every gay rights law and ordinance in the country.

I am not one for “outing” another EXCEPT in a case exactly like this. Were it to be true that Schock is voting against the rights and positions of the very community for which he is a part, I am more than happy to see him come clean about a double life as it were.

I’ll be curious to see how this may or may not shake out.

Stay tuned.

Ten year reunion: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy

Hard to believe it’s been 10 years since “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” debuted. The series began in 2003 and ran for 100 episodes, ending it’s run in 2007.

At the time, it was very new and fresh for the reality genre and it opened doors for it’s “fab five” who have gone on to other high profile gigs.

Well, you know at the ten year mark it’s REUNION time:

“Queer Eye Reunion: 10 Years Later” will reunite foodie Ted Allen, grooming guru Kyan Douglas, design expert Thom Filicia, fashionista Carson Kressley, and culture vulture Jai Rodriguez.

Variety reports that Andy Cohen will host the October reunion special, on which “the quintet will reflect on the series, reveal behind-the-scenes secrets and discuss how their lives have changed.”
