Twitter Fail: Marco Rubio Crashes, Burns Trying To Troll Elizabeth Warren

L-R Sens. Marco Rubio and Elizabeth Warren
Earlier this week, during the CNN LGBTQ Town Hall, Sen. Elizabeth Warren delivered the viral moment of the evening when she was asked what she would say to someone on the campaign trail who might tell her, as someone who is old-fashioned, their faith teaches them that “marriage is between one man and one woman.” Replied Warren, “Well, I’m going to assume it’s a guy who said that, and I’m gonna say, then just marry one woman. I’m cool with that.” As the crowd roared in approval, the senator added, “Assuming you can find one.”

GOP Sen. Marco Rubio, who never misses a chance to embarrass himself, took to Twitter to troll Warren writing, “Vividly captures the condescension of elites & their incessant ridicule of Americans with traditional values. It elicits glee among celebrities & blue check brigade. But for the millions sick of being disrespected, it elicits support for fighting back, even in a crude or vulgar way.”

“Condescension?” “Ridicule?” Little Marco, try being LGBTQ in America someday if you want to talk ‘ridicule.’ Twitter was not about to let Little Marco, who went from chiding Donald Trump for his micro-dick to being a staunch supporter of the serial sexual assaulter famous for declaring he likes to grab women “by the pussy.”

The vast majority of those funds were from small-dollar donations – the average contribution was $26. More than 300,000 new supporters donated for the first time in the third quarter. “This means our grassroots movement is in an incredible position,” the campaign said in a statement, “to double down on our investments in grassroots organizing.” Fund-raising totals announced by other Democratic candidates: • Mayor Pete Buttigieg: $19.1 million • Former Vice President Joe Biden: $15.2 million • Sen. Kamala Harris: $11.6 million • Former tech executive Andrew Yang: $10 million • Sen. Cory Booker: $6 million • Author Marianne Williamson: $3 million

Democratic Presidential Candidates Unite For Stronger Gun Laws

Eight of the top Democratic presidential candidates appear in a new video underscoring the need for gun safety. The gun control organization named after former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot at point blank range by a maniac, launched the video on Monday. The candidates featured in the video include former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke; California Sen. Kamala Harris; former Vice President Joe Biden; South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg; Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar; New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker; Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. In the video, the candidates focus on stronger gun laws to prevent school shootings and protect children. From the Giffords campaign for gun safety:

We deserve a president who listens to the American people, not the NRA.

We deserve a president who takes bold action to make us safer, not one who tweets thoughts and prayers then does nothing.

We deserve a president who fights for stronger gun laws, not gun lobby profits.

2020 Democratic candidates are vying to be that leader.

We sat down with Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren to discuss their plans to make us safer from gun violence.

Our kids deserve to be safe at school.

Elizabeth Warren Courts The DragCon Vote

During the 3rd annual DragCon NYC this past weekend, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) sent a video greeting to the happy attendees encouraging them to not only register to vote, but then make sure they sashay their way to the voting booth. “When we make our voices heard, when we get into the fight, we win,” said the White House hopeful. “I’m in this fight for an America that works for everyone; I’m in this fight for full LGBTQ+ equality.” “We’ve got a lot of work to do to make sure everyone is free to be who they are and love who they love,” she added. Warren went on to note the record number of transgender Americans that were murdered last year telling the viewers, “We need to call it out, and we need to fight back.” The senior senator from Massachusetts continued saying, “Everyone should be able to go to school, to work, to get healthcare, or just walk down the street without fear of discrimination or violence.” https://twitter.com/TeamWarren/status/1170750332357545985?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1170750332357545985&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Finstinctmagazine.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D168000%26action%3Dedit RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Shea Couleé was one of those manning the Warren campaign booth at DragCon handing out signs and stickers as well as inviting folks to ‘strike a pose’ with a cardboard cutout of Warren. According to Couleé, all of the current Democratic presidential hopefuls were offered the chance to send a video greeting to the DragCon attendees, but only Warren responded to the invite. “The folks at DragCon extended an invitation to all of the Democratic candidates to come to DragCon, and she is the only one that accepted the invitation,” Couleé shared with NBC News. “For me, that speaks volumes.” Next up for Warren is the third Democratic presidential primary debate taking place this Thursday, Sept 12, in Houston, Texas. Warren is also announced to take part in both the upcoming GLAAD presidential forum in Iowa on September 20, as well as the CNN/Human Rights Campaign televised Town Hall on October 10. https://twitter.com/TeamWarren/status/1170494015923523584?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1170494015923523584&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Finstinctmagazine.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D168000%26action%3Dedit https://twitter.com/XorjeO/status/1170754649630158852?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1170754649630158852&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Finstinctmagazine.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D168000%26action%3Dedit https://twitter.com/SheaCoulee/status/1170099183036129280?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1170099183036129280&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Finstinctmagazine.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D168000%26action%3Dedit

Biden Still Leads In Latest Poll, But Warren Jumps 5 Points

The Hill reports former Vice President Joe Biden leads the posse of Democratic presidential contenders by double-digits in the latest Harvard CAPS/Harris poll. Biden garnered 32 percent support with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) coming in second with half that – 16 percent. Those results show a slight decline for both men since the last survey by the polling outfit. However, the new data shows Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) getting 13 percent support, a 5-point jump since the last Harvard CAPS/Harris poll was conducted in July after the last set of debates. Warren is the only candidate to show a notable increase in support. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) pegged fourth place with 7 percent support; South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) tied for fifth place with 4 percent support. I realize we’re 14 months from the general election, but the first Democratic test comes in Iowa in January.

Warren Surges Past Sanders In Latest Fox News Poll

(Images via Fox News)

The results of the latest Fox News poll shows Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has surged to the number two spot behind former Vice President Joe Biden.

The new poll shows Biden still leads the pack of Democratic hopefuls with the support of 31 percent of Democratic primary voters.

Warren comes in at 20 percent, and Sanders at 10 percent.

California Sen. Kamala Harris garnered 8 percent.

All of the other candidates received 3 percent or less.

More from Fox News:

Warren’s gains come at Sanders’ expense, as she’s now the favorite among primary voters under age 45 as well as those who identify as “very” liberal. Since last month, Warren is up 12 points among the under 45 crowd, while Sanders lost 10. And her support increased 18 points among very liberal voters, as backing for Sanders dropped 16.

Biden leads Warren among both men (+11 points) and women (+11), and has a 22-point advantage among voters over age 45. Plus, among non-whites, Biden is up by 17 points over Sanders and by 19 over Warren.

By a wide 60-36 percent margin, Democratic primary voters prefer a nominee who will “restore the country and get American politics back to normalcy” over one who will “fundamentally change” how Washington works.

Overall, the survey indicates Biden would beat Trump by the widest margin if the election were held today, 50% – 38%.

Sanders would win by 9 points over Trump, while Warren would take the race by 7 points.

And the election is 14 months away…
