Super-Statistician Nate Silver Predicts Crushing Win By Hillary Clinton

Super-stats guy Nate Silver tweeted out this prediction of the general election (if the voting were held today) predicting a crushing defeat for Donald Trump.

You need 270 electoral votes to win the White House.

Nate Silver predicted 49 of 50 states in the 2008 presidential election.

In 2012, Silver predicted all 50 states in the presidential election.

I’m not nearly the genius Silver is but I’m not so bullish on Georgia and North Carolina.

That being said, Hillary would still win big even without those two states. I do think she will win handily.

We shall see how this all plays out…

Ted Koppel Schools Bill O’Reilly On True Journalism

Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly asked his guest, veteran journalist Ted Koppel, how HE would interview GOP White House hopeful Donald Trump.

Koppel did not hold back, explaining that he felt Fox News and their ilk have made the news interview “irrelevant” through their pundity when it comes to the Trumpster.

Via Media Matters:

“You and I have talked about this general subject many times over the years. It’s irrelevant how I would do it. You know who made it irrelevant? You did. You have changed the television landscape over the past 20 years — you took it from being objective and dull to subjective and entertaining. And in this current climate, it doesn’t matter what the interviewer asks him; Mr. Trump is gonna say whatever he wants to say, as outrageous as it may be.”

As he so often does, O’Reilly didn’t actually admit that his guest had hit the nail on the head, so he tried reiterating the same query. Once again, Koppel did not let O’Reilly or Fox News of the hook for their culpability in the rise of Trump:

“The first way you do it is not in the interview — you do it by some reporting. It’s an old-fashioned concept but I think demonstrating who and what Mr. Trump is and what his policies really amount to is something you don’t do in an interview. He doesn’t answer the questions.”

Reporting from Fox News! Ha! Now that truly would be revolutionary.

Finally, Koppel left O’Reilly with this stinging criticism of the candidate they helped spawn:

“When was the last time you have heard Donald Trump spell out a real policy on anything other than, ‘We’re gonna be the best, we’re gonna be the greatest, I’m gonna negotiate the best deals you’ve ever seen.’ There is no substance in any of that, and nobody among his followers seems to care about that.”

New, “More Presidential” Trump Mocks Kasich On Eating Habits – “It’s Disgusting’

Last week, Donald Trump’s senior advisors told Republican party leaders that the GOP front-runner would be shifting to a new, more presidential version of Trump in the coming weeks.

This, clearly, is not that week.

Via Business Insider:

During a rally in Rhode Island, the Republican presidential frontrunner said that the Ohio governor should learn from Trump’s children, whom Trump has urged to eat modest portions of food.

“Did you see him? He has a news conference all the time when he’s eating. I have never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion,” Trump said of Kasich.

He continued: “I’d say, ‘Children, small, little bites.’ This guy takes a pancake and he’s shoving it in his mouth. It’s disgusting. Do you want this guy for your president?”

Which Is The ‘Real’ Donald Trump?

Donald Trump’s campaign now admits he’s been “playing a role” on the campaign stage up to now.

And now, he’s going to “change.”

I’ve posted here many times I felt the Donald was ‘punking’ us.

As the Trumpster is quoted as saying – “I’m very capable of changing to anything I want to change to.”

So, who is he? Which Trump is he?

Voters won’t ever know.

Ted Cruz Goes After Donald Trump’s Opposition To HB2

Following quickly on the heels of Donald Trump telling NBC News that he opposes North Carolina’s anti-LGBT hate law HB2, Sen. Ted Cruz rushed out this attack ad using the same, tired false “attack of the transgender women” narrative we’ve seen far too often.

Text of the spot:

“Should a grown man pretending to be a woman be allowed to use the women’s restroom? The same restroom used by your daughter? And your wife? Donald Trump thinks so. It’s not appropriate and it’s not safe. It’s PC nonsense that’s destroying America. Donald Trump won’t take on the PC police. He’s one of them.”

Trump Advisors To Republicans: Don’t Worry – It’s All An Act

During a closed door meeting in Florida, Donald Trump’s senior advisors told Republican leaders to not worry – the first part of the campaign has been an act put on by the Trumpster “projecting an image.”

From the Associated Press:

Trump’s newly hired senior aide, Paul Manafort, made the case to Republican National Committee members that Trump has two personalities: one in private and one onstage.

“When he’s out on the stage, when he’s talking about the kinds of things he’s talking about on the stump, he’s projecting an image that’s for that purpose,” Manafort said in a private briefing.

“You’ll start to see more depth of the person, the real person. You’ll see a real different guy,” he said.

The Associated Press obtained a recording of the closed-door exchange.

“He gets it,” Manafort said of Trump’s need to moderate his personality. “The part that he’s been playing is evolving into the part that now you’ve been expecting, but he wasn’t ready for, because he had first to complete the first phase. The negatives will come down. The image is going to change.”

Donald Trump Opposes North Carolina Hate Law

During a town hall appearance this morning on NBC’s Today Show, Donald Trump seemed to oppose anti-LGBT laws like North Carolina’s hateful HB2.

I say “seemed” because during his answer he kept saying “Leave it the way it is.” Leaving it the way it is would mean keeping HB2 in North Carolina., because that’s currently “how it is.”

But the gist of his answer would seem to be in opposition to the legislation that has garnered so much attention and caused so much economic hardship for the state.

Here’s Trump talking on the issue this morning:

“North Carolina did something that was very strong and they’re paying a big price. And there’s a lot of problems.” Trump said. “Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they’re going through, with all of the business and all of the strife — and that’s on both sides — you leave it the way it is. There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife and the economic punishment they’re taking.”

UPDATE: Trump’s opponent in the Republican presidential primary blasted Trump for even suggesting opposition to the hate law.

New York Presidential Primary: Hillary Clinton & Donald Trump Win Big

According to the Associated Press, it is now mathematically impossible for Sen. Ted Cruz or Gov. John Kasich to get to 1,237 delegates before the Republican convention this summer. Their only path to the nomination is to block Donald Trump and force a contested convention.

Stay tuned.
