Trump Twitter Rant: “We’d Be At War If Not For Me”

Clearly, Donald Trump never received any positive reinforcement during his childhood.

No one must have ever told him any thing was good enough because as an adult in a position of immense power now, he demands praise whenever the mood strikes him.

In the aftermath of a by The Washington Post on Sunday which quoted U.S. officials who now believe Kim Jong Un has no intention of denuclearization, Trump took to Twitter to claim the credit for the U.S. not being at war with North Korea.

“Many good conversations with North Korea-it is going well! In the meantime, no Rocket Launches or Nuclear Testing in 8 months. All of Asia is thrilled. Only the Opposition Party, which includes the Fake News, is complaining. If not for me, we would now be at War with North Korea!”

CNN Airs Video Montage Of Trump’s Verbal Attacks On The Media

In response to a shooting at a Maryland newspaper which left 5 dead and many injured, President Donald Trump condemned violent attacks on the media.

The key word in that sentence is “violent” because clearly the Trumpster has long demeaned and fed incivility towards journalists.

CNN’s John Berman took time to recognize Trump’s history of verbal attacks on the media with a video montage.

Trump Denies He Ever Tweeted That Thing He Tweeted Three Days Ago

Ok, so this is like shooting fish in a barrel.

For all the Trump supporters who say they’ve never heard Donald Trump lie, this is for you.

On June 27, 2018, Donald Trump tweeted: “HOUSE REPUBLICANS SHOULD PASS THE STRONG BUT FAIR IMMIGRATION BILL, KNOWN AS GOODLATTE II, IN THEIR AFTERNOON VOTE TODAY, EVEN THOUGH THE DEMS WON’T LET IT PASS IN THE SENATE. PASSAGE WILL SHOW THAT WE WANT STRONG BORDERS & SECURITY WHILE THE DEMS WANT OPEN BORDERS = CRIME. WIN!”

NOTICE ALL THE CAPS LETTERS? That means he really, really means it.

Then, this morning, just three days later, the Trumpster tweeted, “I never pushed the Republicans in the House to vote for the Immigration Bill, either GOODLATTE 1 or 2, because it could never have gotten enough Democrats as long as there is the 60 vote threshold. I released many prior to the vote knowing we need more Republicans to win in Nov.”

So, in three days he went from saying House Republicans should pass Goodlatte II to denying he ever said that.

He didn’t even bother to delete the original tweet.

U.S. Officials Say North Korea Continues To Build Up Nuclear Production

According to five U.S. officials, North Korea has been stepping up its production of enriched uranium for nuclear weapons, even though the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un told Donald Trump at the recent summit he would “work toward” denuclearization.

Taking Kim at his word, Trump cancelled the U.S. military training exercises on the Korean peninsula.

From NBC News:

U.S. intelligence agencies believe that North Korea has increased its production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months — and that Kim Jong Un may try to hide those facilities as he seeks more concessions in nuclear talks with the Trump administration, U.S. officials told NBC News.

The intelligence assessment, which has not previously been reported, seems to counter the sentiments expressed by President Donald Trump, who tweeted after his historic June 12 summit with Kim that “there was no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.”

Analysts at the CIA and other intelligence agencies don’t see it that way, according to more than a dozen American officials who are familiar with their assessments and spoke on the condition of anonymity. They see a regime positioning itself to extract every concession it can from the Trump administration — while clinging to nuclear weapons it believes are essential to survival.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

There’s also evidence that North Korea has made substantial improvements to its nuclear research facilities.

But, remember, Trump says he trusts Kim Jong Un and the nuclear threat is “no longer.”

Donald Trump Sides With Russia On 2016 Election Interference

Donald Trump sided with Russia yet again today via Twitter when the president tweeted, “Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election!”

The Trumpster then immediately pivoted to – what else? – email servers and Hillary Clinton.

He continued, “Where is the DNC Server, and why didn’t Shady James Comey and the now disgraced FBI agents take and closely examine it? Why isn’t Hillary/Russia being looked at? So many questions, so much corruption!”

Every law enforcement agency in the United States from the CIA to the FBI has confirmed that Russia did, indeed, interfere with the 2016 presidential election.

But Trump’s ego is so fragile any and everything that might take away from his election is seen as a threat.

Meanwhile, those same agencies tell us Russia plans to again meddle in our upcoming mid-term elections, but Trump hasn’t asked anyone to do anything about stopping the Russian interference.

Donald Trump Ignores LGBTQ People On National HIV Testing Day

Even when it comes to observing National HIV Testing Day, Donald Trump’s White House continues to ignore the LGBTQ community.

The annual observance, founded in 1995, encourages Americans to get tested and know their HIV status.

While the Trump White House did issue a statement yesterday, it was completely void of any mention of LGBTQ people.

On National HIV Testing Day, we recognize the great progress we have made in the fight against Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), including our Nation’s efforts to spread awareness about the importance of getting tested. Early detection of HIV—using a simple and routine test—is instrumental in helping contain the advancement of the virus to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

Today, medical advances are helping more than one million Americans affected by HIV live longer and healthier lives. Further, in June 2017, the Food and Drug Administration approved generic medications that dramatically reduce the risk of infection in the first place.

Despite this progress, in 2016, nearly 40,000 people were diagnosed with HIV in the United States. People between the ages of 20 and 29 received more than a third of those diagnoses. Even more troubling, 44 percent of people living with HIV between the ages of 13 and 24 were unaware that they were carrying the virus. National HIV Testing Day is an important reminder that those who are unaware they are carrying the disease are the most at risk for inadvertently infecting others and missing out on potentially life-saving treatments.

As we observe National HIV Testing Day, we celebrate the advancements we have made in medical science, and I encourage all Americans to invest in their health and be aware of their HIV status. Through greater awareness and education, we can all do our part to lead healthier and longer lives.

So, while acknowledging the disease and a few statistics based on age, what the statement clearly omits is any mention of the fact that the risk for HIV disproportionately affects LGBTQ people and people of color.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, gay and bisexual men are affected by HIV more than any other group in the United States. When you factor in race, the numbers skew even further.

Since taking office, Donald Trump and his administration have continually ignored and shown disrespect for the LGBTQ community.

Last December 1, Trump’s first World AIDS Day as president, the White House issued a proclamation that completely ignored LGBTQ folks.

Shortly after that, Trump fired the entire Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS without reason.

Both last year and this year, Trump took the time to observe June as National Ocean Month, National Caribbean-American Month and National Homeownership Month.

But complete silence about Pride Month.

Remember when Trump campaigned saying he would be ‘better for the gays’ than Hillary?

Yeah, not so much.

Former GOP strategist and John McCain presidential campaign manager appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe today:

“So in the 240th year of the independence of the United States, in three states by 78,000 votes, the American people by a fluke elected an imbecilic former reality TV show host and con man whose only affinity for reading anything were the Adolf Hitler speeches he kept on his night stand.”

Donald Trump Wants To Eliminate Due Process For Immigrants Coming Into US

Apparently, Donald Trump wasn’t paying attention when he swore to uphold the U.S. Constitution during his inauguration.

The New York Times reports:

President Trump asserted on Sunday that immigrants who crossed into the United States illegally should be sent back immediately without due process or an appearance before a judge, an escalation of his attacks on the judicial system.

It was another twist in an already head-spinning series of developments on immigration after the president reversed a policy last week that had resulted in the separation of more than 2,300 children from their families.

The call to abandon due process on Sunday in some ways echoed part of his executive order, which seeks to detain immigrant families indefinitely, a stance that courts have said violates the rights of the children. But on Sunday, Mr. Trump went further, saying no judges at all were needed to process immigration cases.

The ACLU responded to Trump’s call to eliminate due process for migrants: “What President Trump has suggested here is both illegal and unconstitutional. Any official who has sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution and laws should disavow it unequivocally.”

Trump Attacks Restaurant That Asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders To Leave

President Trump told the Twitterverse Monday morning that the Virginia restaurant that refused to serve White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is “dirty” and “needs a paint job.”

Over the weekend, Sanders confirmed (via her official White House press secretary Twitter account) that the owner of The Red Hen in Lexington, Va. asked her to leave while she dined out with a group of people.

Speaking to The Washington Post after the incident, the owner of the restaurant, Stephanie Wilkinson, shared that she asked Sanders to leave, in part, because of the Trump administration’s proposed ban on transgender military service members.

“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” Wilkinson said. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.”

This followed a spate of confrontations of Trump administration officials including Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a Washington, D.C. restaurant over the administration’s immigration policy and White House policy adviser Stephen Miller at a Mexican restaurant.

Folks were quick to point out to the Trumpster that his own Mar-a-Lago resort has had its share of health code violations.
