Out Music: Dance Loud Asks ‘Why Lie?’

L-R Desereé Fawn Zimmerman, Kristin Sanchez
Chicago-based electronic duo Dance Loud (Desereé Fawn Zimmerman & Kristin Sanchez) release their hypnotic new music video, “Why Lie,” asking the eternal question: why do some people choose dishonesty in relationships? The chill soundscape seems more like a ‘journey’ than an episode as the ebb and flow of the moody downtempo track feels soothing and tranquil. I especially like the extended rhythmic passage at the end. The Chicago Tribune raved about the real-life couple’s live performances: “The tandem’s live performances are a joy to behold. Sanchez’s beats build and build on the dance floor like any good house music set, then Zimmerman joins the production, adding layers of intricate drum rhythms that both complement and contrast with the synths.” I covered the duo’s euphoric single “Hollow” back in March. Both tracks are from their upcoming indie album The Moment due out June 5. You can Instagram the duo here.

World’s Chillest Man Sips Beer During Armed Robbery

St. Louis resident Tony Tovar is being called the “World’s Chillest Man” after video footage of him calming sitting through a bar robbery went viral. According to NBC News, Tovar was having a beer at Behrmann’s Tavern on August 28 when an armed robber entered the establishment demanding the patrons get down on the ground and hand over their valuables. Tovar, however, sat on his barstool and calmly sipped his beer while the gunman moved around the watering hole. In surveillance footage, you can see the robber press his gun into Tovar’s arm. But the “World’s Chillest Man” just lits up a cigarette. Tovar later said, “I just had a really good feeling he wasn’t out to harm anybody.” Watch the Chill One in the report below.

Sunday Chill Time

Loved the quick trip on Atlantis Cruise with Olivia: awesome few days aboard the Harmony of the Seas, but those were some long travel days there and back.

Since we joined cruise after initial departure, we had to be first off in Ft Lauderdale for immigration reasons. That meant a 5:30am call to disembark.

That gave me an 8-hour layover in Fort Lauderdale. Thanks to my buddy Chad for the chat and nap space before getting on to my 8-hour fly time home to Las Vegas.

It was sweet that one of my fellow Atlantis cruisers approached me at the airport to say he’d seen me on the ship and thought I was handsome but was too shy to say so.

He found his courage at my gate and I was really touched. Nice guy who lives in London and just wanted to finally say ‘hi.’ That was a cool postscript to the adventure.

And meeting Randy Report reader Devon on the ship was a highlight as well 🙂

Enjoying some chill time in my favorite space in the world. Bruno the wonder dog keeps wandering over to see if I have any food (nope), but I’m happy to have his company.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. #morewine #dogsrule #exhale
