Some news items you might have missed:

NPR: Far-right pundit Ben Shapiro (above) is apparently mad that NPR did a deep dive into how he and his website, The Daily Wire, have found success in stoking outrage and political division via conservative clickbait. His site often generates more Facebook engagement on its articles than The New York Times, The Washington Post, and NBC News combined. But, but, but “cancel culture…”

The Advocate: Authorities have charged three adults for their part in shaving a 12-year-old boy’s head to read “gay” then posting a video of the verbal and physical assault on social media.

The Hill: A new OH Predictive Insights poll shows 62% of Arizona Republicans believe the ongoing partisan election audit will eventually find Donald Trump won the state’s 11 Electoral College votes instead of President Biden. No evidence has emerged to suggest widespread voter fraud. Biden won the state by more than 10,000 votes in 2020.

Justice Dept: Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, the leader of the white supremacist group Proud Boys, pleaded guilty today to charges in two cases, including one involving the burning of a Black Lives Matter banner stolen from a downtown Washington church. Each offense carries a maximum sentence of 180 days’ imprisonment and/or a $1,000 fine.

New York Times: Wall Street saw its biggest daily decline in months today in a broad sell-off reflecting a range of concerns about economic growth and the potential for rising Covid-19 infections leading to the return of restrictions on travel and tourism.

Axios: With historically low inventory of preowned vehicles, the value of used cars is continuing to climb – even for vehicles with more than 100,000 miles. Car-shopping website Edmunds.com reports the average selling price for a used car with between 100,000 and 110,000 miles on it was $16,489 in June, up from $12,626 a year ago.

Instagram: Model Layna Bloom becomes the first transgender model to cover the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Some news items you might have missed:

New York Post: Proving that love is blind, and sometimes kooky, a bodybuilder from Kazakhstan (above) has tied the knot with his dearly beloved — a sex doll he dated for eight months before proposing a year ago.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Wisconsin’s elections board confirmed Joe Biden’s victory in the state Monday verifying Biden’s win of about 20,700 votes a day after the completion of a partial recount that found dozens of more votes for Biden.

Media Matters: Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro complained on his daily webcast today that Hulu made the holiday romantic comedy, Happiest Season, featuring a lesbian couple. “Conservatives are going to have to get into the business of actually making entertainment because the left has decided that all entertainment is now to be ‘woke.’ All of it. Right?” No, Ben, there are dozens of holiday rom-coms made every year – only 4 this year are LGBTQ-themed. And that’s, like, a new record.

Washington Post: Anthony S. Fauci and other experts urged Americans to take aggressive action as the December holidays loom to mitigate the surge overwhelming hospitals across the country. As the number of coronavirus-related deaths per day rose to its highest point since April, Fauci and others highlighted the importance of complying with mask mandates and physical distancing.

CNN: Dr. Scott Atlas, who doubted face masks, pushed ‘herd immunity’, and had no background in infectious diseases, has resigned from Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force.

NBC Out: Orange Is the New Black star and LGBTQ advocate Laverne Cox took to Instagram on Saturday to share that she and her friend were the victims of a transphobic attack that has left her “in shock.”

Douche Of The Day: Ben Shapiro

Ben Shapiro

Conservative asshot Ben Shapiro, who grew up as the child of a Hollywood executive and went to Harvard Law School, told his listeners today that “if you had to work more than one job to have a roof over your head or food on the table, you probably shouldn’t have taken the job that’s not paying you enough.”

He added, “That would be a ‘you’ problem.”

Ben Shapiro Trashes Donald Trump As “Turd Tornado”

Right-wing journalist Ben Shapiro described his former boss at Breitbart News, Steve Bannon, as a “turd tornado” upon hearing the news that Donald Trump had hired Bannon to head up his beleaguered presidential campaign.

Via Raw Story:

Shapiro, who left Breitbart after the website took a pro-Trump turn earlier this year, accused Bannon of turning “Breitbart into Trump Pravda for his own personal gain.”

“Steve is basically going to tell Trump to be more militant, to double down, to be more focused,” Shapiro explained to CNN’s Brianna Keilar on Wednesday. “It does demonstrate the Republican or Trump-media complex that Bannon has helped to create in direct contravention to what Andrew Breitbart once called the Democrat-media complex.”

“As you probably know, I think Donald Trump is a turd tornado, but I also know that he has no capacity whatsoever to control himself and be the sort of staid politician that so many people want him to be,” he continued. “So, telling him to double down is not necessarily terrible strategy. If he’s going to go down, he’s going to go down being Trump.”

“A what tornado?” Keilar asked.

“A turd tornado,” Shapiro repeated.

“What is that?” Keilar pressed, immediately wishing she hadn’t.

“Well, it’s like a Sharknado, except with poop,” Shapiro revealed.

“Okay, that’s not quite what I expected,” the CNN host admitted.

Ben Shapiro Takes Cheap Shot At Gaga

Professional asshole Ben Shapiro sent out the above tweet last night, taking a dig at Lady Gaga after her national anthem performance at the Super Bowl.

The comment was too crunchy for even his own followers as the response was not what he was probably expecting. See below just a few choice retorts.

Anti-Gay Haters Begin Same-Sex Marriage Melt-Down

Bwah-hahahahahaha!

Chris Evans genuinely dislikes icky conservative opinionator Ben Shapiro

Ben Shapiro has a big problem with Jason Collins being called a “hero.”

Upon Jason Collins’ historic coming-out, Shapiro took to Twitter to decry the calls of heroism being lauded at the NBA center — a popular trend among straight white men who never had to come out as anything in their lives.

Piers Morgan took Shapiro to task on his CNN show for his insensitive comments, at which Shapiro accused the Piers of hating America by thinking that we’re all just a bunch of homophobes:

Shapiro: “Let me ask you something. Why do you hate America so much that you think this is such a homophobic country that when Jason Collins comes out it is the biggest deal in the history of humanity? President Obama has to personally call him to congratulate him.”

Answers Morgan: “I think you might be homophobic simply because you said, why is Jason Collins a hero because he’s gay? Why sneer at a guy for coming out when he’s being courageous?”

Says Shapiro: “I’m Jewish. I wear a yarmulke on TV. There’s a lot of anti-semitism… Being who you are in 2013 in America is what America is about. It is not heroic to be who you are publicly. I’m glad for Jason Collins if he feels that he’s going to live a happier life now. But it does not make you a hero to be who you are.”

I personally can’t stand the sound of Shapiro’s voice.  It’s like nails on a chalk board.  To think people actually listen to him on the radio and such is difficult to fathom.

UPDATE: After the segment aired, super-star movie stud Chris Evans, who has a gay brother, tweeted this:
